In my young life, I ony have witnessed a few boxing trilogies. Four to be exact (Bowe-Holyfield, Morales-Barrera, Corrales-Casamayor, and Pacquiao-Morales). Among these, i'll say the Pacquiao-Morales Trilogy is the greatest. But that is only my opinion. I wonder if there are other trilogies better than the Pacquiao-Morales. And do you think the Pacquiao-Morales Trilogy is in the Top 5 ALL-TIME Greatest Trilogies?

What will be more remembered by boxing fans in general? What do we more likely to see on ESPN Classic 20 years from now? Pacquiao-Morales or Gatti-Ward?

Then make your arguement against ESPN's choices and place MP -Morales.

MP-EM may be one of the most exciting trilogies because of the sheer excitement that Manny brings into the ring... But somehow, I still don't think it'll be an all-time great - maybe the greatest involving a Filipino - but it didn't have the same stigma that trilogies like Morales-Barrera and Ali-Frazier had...there wasn't much off-the-ring drama to add hype or bad blood to the fights... Both fighters were good, but both pretty much just did their thing... And it wasn't as brutal as the other all-time great trilogies...maybe if the last 2 fights were as close as the 1st fight, and maybe if there was more bad blood between them, it may be in the running for the all-time great trilogies...

Actually, i think Manny's dominance over his opponents is also what makes it harder to consider his fights among the all-time greats... maybe when he's met his match - and I mean an opponent who can constantly give MP hell in the ring for 3 fights - maybe then, he'll have a trilogy for the all-time greats...

The greatest trilogy is the Ali-Frazier trilogy of course.
Zale-Graciano second
MAB-EM
Gatti-Ward

It's too one sided in favor of Pac to be a great trilogy...exciting fight though!!!

yes.

the last 2 rds were action packed... i thought morales will not be able to get up after his KO in the 2nd rd but morales got up and fought back! which is really exciting! Morales hit MP with a couple of strong shots and the last few seconds of rd 2 was the best - both men throwing punches at each other non-stop! GF is really an amazing fight! :toast:
