the american commentators were very annoying. they said its a close fight & they only acknowledge if barrera lands punches if pacquaio connects they seem to ignore it. they were busy giving praising barreras running tactics. also when barrera landed that punch in the break they said it was not intentional.

What are you carrying on about? Did you watch the fight? Are you a legit boxing fan, or just a Manny Pacquiao, child-like groupie? If you insist on this claim, then you are nothing more than on overly sensative, sensationalized MP groupie! The commentators were stating negative commentary about MAB all ****** night long! WTF!

I think they were referring to 2 different group of commentators. Jim, Larry and Emmanuel belongs to the HBO PPV while Mario Lopez and his company are from Top Rank. The HBO commentators are biased towards Manny while the TR commentators are biased towards Barrera. It's very obvious since Mario Lopez has a mexican route. He very much like Morales also and was very sad after the Pac-Morales 3. You can tell it thru his comments.

Luisivich, I live in Boston, so I never get to listen to the commentary by Trinidad. Only the HBO commentary and believe me, they weren't too thrilled with MAB!

Only Stewart because he's really pro-Barrera. The other two are neutral.

It's very obvious that Larry Merchant and Manuel Steward are Barrera fans. Their comments were so biased. They couldn't accept the fact that the greatest warrior on earth is from the other side of the world. Sorry for them. No more Ali, Sugar Ray, Tyson and De La Hoya today. The closest thing they have is Pretty Boring Fraud Gayweather who could not even put up a big PPV event in his home country. His last fight was a big hit not because of him but because of De La Hoya. Stewars also said that Manny has only 24 months left in him for boxing because of the way he fights. I totally disagrre with that. If Barrera retired at age 33, I think Manny can still fight competitively at age 35. Manny has 2-3 more years fighting as aggressive as he is today. Then after that, he still have 2-3 more years as a technical fighter.

American's are good at commentating. If it were a one-sided commentary I'd be put to sleep. The commentary on Barrera provides the viewer suspense if he can pull the impossible as he has done in the past and highlights what Barrera can bring to the game as opposed to Pacquiao. Lampley, Merchant and Steward bring a technical aspect to the game unlike the Pinoy group who give more emphasis on the emotional aspect of the sport. The worst commentary I heard was from the Philippine contingent of Pac-EM2, "kawawa naman si Erik Morales." - Wow, very informative d ba? This is why my preference is to hear a foreign commentator in Pacman fights since they are often unbiased. I also like to read foreign articles as they give good analysis and are keen observers of the fight. We should praise the critics because they often show us the deficiencies in the fighters. Remember those same critics pointed out the flaw and helped Manny improve to be a better fighter unlike before when all he had was the left straight.

I find it difficult to understand why some rabid Pinoy fans can't enjoy hearing the intangibles the opponent brings to the game. Just look at the recently concluded fight, you got to admit it wasn't as exciting as the Morales' trilogy. Why? Because we are almost certain of what will happen.

Some people make it sound like Manny's a god. Wrong guys, he's the devil who continues to be a thorn to Mexican boxers.
