Bob Arum annouced a day after the fight that Blaze of Glory was a smash hit. According to Top Rank's big boss, personal accountant, the partial estimates ppv buys hit more than $ 12,487,500.00 ( a partial count of 250,000 buys at $49.95). It will rise in a few weeks after all ppv will be counted, an estimate of about 40% rise.
Including the 2 giant network in mexico and phil respectively that mp promotion charged for a total of $1,600,000.00 (800,000.00 each) combined. The total partial amount will reach to more than $14million.
However Bob Arum doesn't believe to the reports that solar sports didn't break even the cost. Reports says that its a huge loss for solar sports. Commercial and cinema reach only for P34,000,000.00. Solar needs P45million to break even including operational expenses. Solar buy the rights for pac-solis fight for almost P40million.

I think that's the reason why ABS didnt even bother to join the bid for the rights.

It is not good for us Pinoys working here in Europe and Northern Africa that it was GMA/Solar Sports and not ABS who covered the fight coz most of us are TFC subscribers.
