JOSESITO LOPEZ UPSETS VICTOR ORTIZ, BREAKING HIS JAW AND STOPPING HIM AFTER 9

Moving up from 140 to 147, Josesito Lopez just pulled off the leading candidate for Upset of the Year, defeating former welterweight champion Victor Ortiz via 9th round TKO. After a grueling battle that saw Lopez coming on strong, Ortiz's corner stopped the fight after Ortiz complained about a broken jaw. A lot of the rounds were close, as Lopez was landing more combinations while Ortiz was landing some of the bigger shots. Although Lopez's left eye was starting to swell, he continued to battle back, finding a home for his uppercut and his left hook. In fact, it was at the beginning of the 9th round when Lopez landed a devastating left hook that likely broke the jaw of Ortiz. The official judge's scorecards at the time of the stoppage were 86-85, 87-84, 88-83, all in favor of Ortiz.

Canelo was shaking his head. The Sept 15 bout is surely gone and Arum is now laughing on the outside.
Maybe they should make Chavez vs Alvarez instead on Sept 15 at MGM via HBO.

If there's a boxer out there who deserves to get paid, it's Martinez, plus it's going to be hard since Arum and Schaefer is at war right now. Let Alvarez fight Lara, it will be one hell of a fight...

But money talks very loud. Arum and Schaefer are good listeners.

Josesito Lopez beat Ortiz more convincingly than Mayweather, I think... (Retirement due to broken jaw vs. Sucker punch) :D
