Malignaggi, with a broken jaw on the earlier rounds againts Cotto, finished the fight by avoiding Cotto's bombs, while Ortiz cannot with Josesito Lopez? Is this evident that Ortiz really is a quitter? Ortiz was ahead on my scorecard and even if he gave up those last 3 rounds by running around I think he still can win the fight.

i read somewhere that ortiz said on post fight interview that he couldn't close his mouth after "the incident".

if indeed true, i can't imagine him fighting with an open mouth! :biglaugh:

seriously though i think ortiz is simply a quitter!

I had Lopez ahead by 1 round but my friend had Ortiz up by 1 point before the fight ended. It was a close fight really...I say it was a smart move he did in there..why continue if you cant continue anymore? Career and health wise, what his corner did is the best thing to do and that is to stop the fight..Danny Garcia did a good job in there protecting his fighter unlike his brother Robert who let Margarito continue the fight with Manny which now cost Tony's career...But yeah, Ortiz is still a quitter and he can not deny that anymore... He bitch out by saying out loud that he broke his jaw....

Ortiz just doesn't have the heart to fight inspite of a broken jaw.
Just call it broken heart.

Bradley broke his ankle not during the fight but after the fight when he jumped as high as he could after hearing the judges verdict that he won the fight and landed on the ref's foot that caused the injury. Rewatch the video. :)

Yea Malignaggi displayed a lot of heart and determination in the Cotto fight.
If Ortiz really got his jaw broken and quits... I can respect that. What's the use if u know in your mind, that you wouldnt be able to last much longer. When every punch to the face magnifies the pain, and yourself dont have anything left to hurt your opponent...

Well, one thing for sure Malignaggi has the heart of a true warrior while Ortiz simply doesn't have it. Ortiz's mentality is to quit every time the going gets rough and frustrating for him. He's a good boxer but he just aint have the heart. :D

Right. "heart" is something you gotta be born with. You don't learn to fight with a broken jaw in the gym.
I know grown men that b!tch and moan when they have fever acting like they need to be spoon fed.
While Michael Jordan goes out and scores like 37 points with a flu.
