remember the guerrero fight?......

......Canelo may have more fanbase than floyd....

......the PPV buys should be more attributed to Canelo and less of floyd?

Does it matter ?
Floid robbed them.
Look, hollow "moral victories" are worthless.
I was in Las Vegas last weekend.
There were a ton of Floidy fans there. The hotels near MGM were packed. There were a ton of prostis who flew in to Vegas last week. Believe me; ugly ones, fat ones, good looking ones and really skan ky looking ones. There were a lot of Argentinians who came to town as well. The closed circuit sites were sold out. THOSE added to the PPV totals big time. $110 to get in for the best seats.

Floidy-Canelo was the biggest fight of all time. Kinda sad to think about it b/c Canelo hasn't done sh a it to deserve it.

Floyd is the bigger draw of the two but Canelo is the biggest Mexican boxing star today no doubt which is why I believe once Canelo strings a couple of victories we can expect a rematch to happen maybe in 2015. Bank on it.

That's absolute nonsense. Most of Alvarez' fans are in Mexico while the 2.2 million are US PPV buys. They only count PPV buys in the US because, even though boxing is a 2nd-tier sport in the US, it's where big money is made. How has Canelo done in previous PPV fights? Mayweather has now done twice 2 million plus PPV buys and that's no fluke.

This something Pinoys don't understand: boxing is a big part of Black American's culture. Before there was Michael Jordan, Lebron James or Jackie Ronbinson, the first Black superstar was Heavychamp Jack Johnson. Then, in the 1930's there was the reign of Joe Louis. Since Joe Louis and until recently, the Heavychamp has always been Black with the exception of Marciano and Johannson. Now, with the retirement of Tyson, Roy Jones and Holyfield, Floyd Mayweather, no matter how boring, is the lone Black superstar in the sport of boxing. Thus, he gets a lot of support from the 45 million African-Americans in buying PPVs. Also, with his compelling showing on HBO's 24/7 with De La Hoya, Mayweather played the villain to the max. He has created a villain persona that people or most white folks buy the PPV to watch him lose. This is brilliant marketing strategy. As in Muhammad Ali or Cassius Clay in his early career, Clay played the loudmouth, trash-talking villian that whites wanted to see lose, and Ali/Clay laughed all the way to the bank.....

Most people bought PPV because they want Mayweather
to get beaten by the younger Canelo whom they thought
had the greater chance of dismantling Floyd..

you are contradicting your post......... and you can also look at his fight prior to the canelo fight.....guerrero has no large fan base....so if what you claim is true that the african-americans largely support floyd, then floyd should have still managed at least 1.6 million ppv + the ones who hate floyd

Floyd always comes up with 6 digit PPVs... I don't think you could say the same thing about alvarez...

So who should get the credit??

Does it really matter where the legitimate paycheck is coming from?

Huh?
If the black Americans thought the Guerrero fight was worthless, why would they buy the fight ?
It's the same thing for Pac. His fights against Clottey and Bradley did not break the million mark .
But his fights against Margarito and JMM did. Does that mean the Mexicans bought most of that differential ?
It takes a good fight and fan base to break the million PPV mark.
To break TWO MILLION, both fighters have to have a good fan base and that the match is intriguing.

Both fights of Mayweather that hits 2M+ PPV buys are with Mexican boxers..

Mayweather choose opponents with large fan base and milk those fans....
The irony..he still avoiding Pacman despite the large demand from fans...
He don't want to lose his only asset! the zero loss!

NO wonder Floyd deserve the name FRAUD!
