Hey guys,

I talked to Diego "Chico" Corrales yesterday, who is getting ready for his first fight at Welterweight.

He is moving right up to 147lbs from 135 pounds, skipping over 140lb division.

He is fighting Johsua Clottey, the guy that Margarito fought in December (who was beating Margarito until he broke his hand)

You got to give Corrales props, he never takes easy or tune up fights.

Cheers guys.

What do you guys think of this fight?

Clottey is good, and it's a tough test for Chico in his 1st weltweight fight.

Who wins :?:

I think he has to use his jab and box. He's a smart boxer when he wants to be.

Going toe to toe to try and thrill in this one could leave him in a dangerous spot in his first fight at Welter.

Clottey is good.

this is a tough fight for Diego, How come he move up 2 division?
i think he can do good in 140 lbs.

i know, maybe there are more lucrative fights in 147 than 140 lbs

Yeah, Corrales will get knocked out.... He has no chin..... He was KD by Casamayor and especially Mayweather by very weak punches... Imagine Clottey's punches that really hurt Margarito.... Tsk, Tsk, Tsk......

At times when a fighter is sucking to make weight his punch resistance suffers.

It's possible he'll stand up to shots better now that he's not starving himself to make weight.

And someone asked why he's not fighting at 140, it's in the interview that he can't make 140.

Corrales starved himself to make those lower weights for too long.

He's almost 6 feet tall. He is probably a natural welterweight.

We will soon see how it works out for him I guess. :P 8)

I think Clottey is going to win this one. I saw his fight against Margarito, and he was hitting Margarito with hard solid shots before he hurt his hands. I think that he will KO Corales.

He has a great left hook and Chico sometimes drops his right hand. He's got to watch out for that big time in this one.

sure, chico has been knocked down and stood up to fight many times
but chico's chin might be a suspect for now.
