In poker there is a variation called "lo ball poker". In this game, the best hand is the worst while the worst hand is the best. For instance, in the Kansas City version, the best hand is 2-3-4-5-7 of different suits while the worst hand is the Royal Flush (A-K-Q-J-10 of different suits). In Dama/Filipino Checkers, there is a variation called "pildi gana". This is where the loser wins and the winner loses. The object is to lose all of your pieces before your opponent.

If there is a "Pildi Gana" Olympics, will the Philippines win? Well, my first answer was a big "yes". This was motivated primarily by the fact that our team has been so mediocre in Beijing. But when I gave myself some time to think about it, I came to a different conclusion. The Philippines still can't win in a "pildi gana" Olympics. The reason is because team Philippines will suck at sucking too.

In short, we can never win no matter what. Our team sucks at being good and when it is time to suck they will suck at that too.

it's not "pildi gana" it's "perdi gana"
It's spanish and it means the desire to loose
