one of the judge scored it 117-110, this should be the closest man... you can give mathebula 3-4 rds but not more than that... Just my
4 cents.

Methabula had a handful of punches connectring on Donaire`s face but powerless.
Nonito has the tendency to allow Jeff to punch him and Donire quickly counter-punching on a right cross during exchanges
Luckily Methabula is not a hard hitter

116-113 Nonito

what fight were you watching?

give 3 rds to mathebula and that is generous,

then ND had a 10-8 round for the KD.

It was 5 out of 10 stars in terms of getting any pre and post fight buzz in the forum. I noticed not a lot of people were hyped up about it judging by the member postings.

My actual fight score is similar to the TS. I guess this time around judges favored effective aggression punctuated by Donaire's superior power over Mathebula's volume punching mostly coming from the jab. I thought the judges scoring was too wide in favor of Nonito.

I also had it 115-112.

Mabulathe was very effective in using his height and reach advantage and was sticking to his gameplan.

I was not at all impressed by Donaire in this fight. It seems that all he was looking for was to setup his knockout punch. And all the while he was doing this, he was becoming predictable and was getting hit a lot by Mabulathe. He did not try to slowly breakdown his opponent by using his jabs, body punches etc... and try to confuse his opponent. Good thing he came to his senses in the final rounds and listened to his corner.

I agree with some of the opinions here that they thought the scores were wide.

But then again, judges still have the best seat in the house.

There were points in Nonito's fight where I thought it was Brandon Rios fighting Mathebula.

Man, Nonito did not respect his power all that much.

This fight is one of the reasons why judges are indispensable. The boxing statistics went for Mathebula, which means you may lean to his side if you did not watch the fight.

Nevertheless, I had it 120-119 UD for Donaire :biglaugh:
