Will Top Rank also protect Donaire from legitimate opponent using excellent matchmaking?

Maybe, or maybe not.

Lets see if he fights Mares which is under GBP.

If we are to base Arum"s deeds and manipulations, yes
Nonito can be his next cash cow, Chavez Jr perhaps, Rios & Bradley? I think not 8)

Magulo kasi pag Boxer ang pipili ng kalaban wala masyadong kikitain. If the boxer will be the one to choose, there's no sure money on the table. If the promoter will do that they can promote the fight for a bigger money. So to depend to the match maker it would be more safe for ND.

Yup, like it or not boxing wont survive without the match makers, ang mangyayari nyan kada laban ng boxer
sa pustahan sila aasa, di na natin matatawag na total sport yon kasi puro sugal na :)

Yung iba tanggap lang ng tanggap kada may humamon. Kaso kadalasan yung humamon ayaw panoorin ng tao. Like regondeaux he's not yet an establish fighter in his resume. And only few people knows how he fights. The reason why he wants Donaire is because Donaire is already an elite he's already famous. Not like Mares who were able to gather his own huge fans, so combining the fans of the two stars, tickets and PPV will easily be sold out. I tell you it's all about money and fame.

As long as Nonito Jr.' marketability remains vibrant, Arum will protect his own interest by protecting Nonito's.

if Nonitz will become a big draw someday, then Arum will most likely do what you had suggested. 8)

donaire doesnt need to be protected, even Arum knows this. Donaire can beat anyone at 122 and 126 IMO including Salido and Chris John. Arum's just bein a greedy SOB when it comes to signing up opponents. he doesnt want half, he wants it all !!!!
