again i raised valid points on my posts above based on my boxing knowledge and i'm waiting for your replies.

im not here to argue bro...so i dont really care about your "boxing knowledge"...like what ive said..i believe mercito is going to beat bam bam...why? coz i know mercito understands boxing more than rios...yan n lng sasabihin ko...
nagkataon lang na si rios ang may pangalan ngayon kaysa kay mercito.....

mercito with his skills and power, i dont see why he cant beat a stationary fighter in bam bam...you should know about this... dont count mercito out just because he cant fight bigger names doesnt mean he is not a good boxer...
so what are you doing quoting my post? arguments or discussion is one the main purpose of this forum, it makes as exercise our minds in the aspect of boxing opinions, right? :D

Rios is not an overnight name in boxing, he fought good contenders going to the top. have you seen the numbers i posted above, that's a hard evidence bro whether you like it or not that rios works his way going where he is right now.

please understand my point, i believe also that maybe gesta can do it but not right now. Don't rush the kid just by seeing him won against pimentel who's last 2 fights was a knockout loss also from a nobody.

Gesta has a big chance of beating Rios if they ever meet in the ring. Rios is good against a boxer fighting him toe to toe. Gesta's skills will be the key.
what skills bro? care to elaborate?

i hope we considered that gesta has no amateur boxing experience... he might have a puncher's chance and better movement than rios but i doubt if bob arum will gamble on his filipino prospect. i believe he needed to start developing someone who can take over the filipino boxing community support once pacman retires. donaire's seems too stubborn to be relied on... just my 1 centimo.

bro may magagalit sayo nyan..

OT: i agree with Cinderella Man, not yet, let Gesta fight a rated fighter first before facing a guy like Rios.

if you want guys want Gesta to fight someone like Rios or any class A lightweight out there.

Its probably time for him to consider hiring a world class team and start with a good trainer.

i agree. his latest opponents' records are not the impressive. let him fight opponents with 5 losses atmost then I can consider him toughing up with Rios.

But im not against Rios Vs Gesta right away.

However,im slightly leaning towards the long shot rather than rushing up

good fights for Gesta rather than rios:

vs Alisher Rahimov (wbo #1) gesta is #2 - wbo for title eliminator since guerrero and marquez is moving up leaving the spot vacant.
vs DeMarco (wbc titlist)
vs Vazquez (ibf titlist)
vs linares
vs katsidis

btw, here's the numbers of rios last 4 opponents compared to gesta.

even the handlers closed to Gesta is not thinking of Rios just right now.

imagine Gesta's past 4 opponents records (W-L-D) 96-45 -5 compared to Rios last four opponent records (W-L-D) 100-7 -2

who's on the right state of boxing mind will fit these 2 in title match?

look at his boxing abilities and stop basing it on his last opponents.... he is far more skilled than them thats why he won those fights...gees...

arguing is different from sharing thoughts bro...

Gesta is gaining momentum.. I think he feels that he can beat Rios.. Gesta is on fire.. If he wants to fight bam bam and he feels it so.. then make it done this November even on the undercard to add more excitement to 8-1 odds of Pacquiao-Marquez III. :bounce:

noting that bro, BUT we cannot disregard the fact even with his superior boxing skills and conditioning(you mentioned) he fought opponents with no-so-good records. and we cannot disregard the fact that because of that records it was surely one of the factors why gest won it with fashion.

quoting from the guy who interviewed mayweather:

"hell i can fight 40 girls and still be undefeated"

yun ngang mga haters ni manny. with his latest 2 opponents bashing na agad with their past opponents na hindi deserving kay manny.

last na 2...i strongly believe mercito will beat rios in lightweight division....

i think i read in one of sir cinderella man's post Gesta's other possible opponents(with nice records is pressume) at this time which he believes are preparations for Rios or better.

ang nakakapagtaka kasi, hindi ni Gesta kinalaban yung nasa top spots ng kanyang division.

   pano kakalabanin ni gesta ung mga nasa top spot ng division nya, eh debut nya pa nga lang to sa top rank, he is still nobody,,, he needs more tune up fights to be known,.. and besides,,, rios is way far from gesta... rios is a beast, trash talker indeed, but also have fist and chin to talk...

When I saw Rios latest fights, I remember the young Antonio Margarito, ferocious, very tough, throws a lot of combination, especially that wicked upper cut. if Gesta got only that Arsenal of his, he will never beat Rios.
