What the hell happens to this fight? I'm pissed right now coz they replace Farenas and put in Bernabe Concepcion.

I believe this is a report error from Ryan Maquinana. I just heard Gerry Penalosa yesterday on radio and he confirmed that Michael Farenas will fight Mike Garcia.

The thing is Ryan Maquinana's article did not even mention a correction if Farenas won't fight Mikey Garcia anymore because the news circulated a few days ago that Ferans will fight Garcia, it was even reported by Ronnie Nathanielsz on the same boxing site. This means he never knew at all that Farenas is set to fight Garcia. Poor Ryan, he probably just used boxrec.com as reference, that site normally make mistakes.

It could be a boo-boo from the part of the writer.

Farenas chickened out.

What a lousy move, Farenas had a chance to upset the rise of Mikey Garcia, and now there is no chance anymore with Bernabe ... some politics in boxing again rears its head ...

I was actually looking forward to this fight
and happy that farenas is going to get a crack against better opposition
but sadly, if this is indeed true, cameron dunkin and michael koncz conspired on this one
cameron knows that farenas is a live one, and might cause trouble against his boxer, thus called up koncz to ask for an alternative so he threw in concepcion, who we know, has lost all the hunger and luster in him from being defeated numerous times
this is a sad development

Yeah bro, I stand corrected. They may have seen Farenas as a high risk-low reward opponent that is why they are replacing him with the lackluster Bernabe Concepcion. This Cameron Dunking is always a pain in the neck. Good break turned into bad break for Farenas! I was looking forward to have someone representing the Philippines in the featherweight division that I thought Farenas is a solid top 10 contender in any of the alphabet soups.

i think that farenas have greater chance of winning than abe. the handler of garcia claims that farenas have a reputation of using his head ironically abe was already disqualified by hitting below the belt.

Farenas definitely had a better shot than Bernabe to win Garcia, but the result wouldn't have been any different, Mikey beats both Farenas and Concepcion in impressive fashion.

farenas is way better boxer than bernabe.
bernabe is mentally weak to fight at elite level and he seems that whenever hes there,he suddenly look awful and stupid.

If Farenas cannot get a fight with Garcia he should fight Billy Dib that would be a good match up or they can talk to chris john team since he doesn't have an opponent yet. Chris John is schedule to fight on march 31.
