He got offered for a job in showbiz. Movies, sitcoms and stuff.
Easier money for him...

He is 5'2" and was a light flyweight.
He probably would have earned lesser money if he turned pro in boxing.

Thanks! Pacquiao was not lured by showbiz and has different thinking than Onyok.

Although hindi naging Olympian si Manny.

His looks fit well for a TV comedian than a pro fighter,
He discovered this one time while facing the mirror.
He realized that memorizing a script and cracking jokes
are much easier money,
Than receiving the hooks & uppercuts from a ring opponent.

Well they had different paths.

Onyok had the opportunity to be a real amateur boxer.
When he won the silver in the Oympics, he became popular, and went to Showbiz.

Manny Pacquaio, as far as I know, went pro quickly.
He needed the money.
After winning several titles as a pro, that's the time he joined showbiz.

If Z Gorres fought for the Olympics, he might and would've brought our first olympic gold.

I remember he was gifted 1 Million pesos after he won the silver medal. After that, I can remember he won another 1 million in a TV gameshow.

He could have been contented on what he had as a comedian.

The good thing is that he managed his life well. He is not like other boxers who after being in the limelight got back to poverty.
