Pinoy ba si gesta? Hes not even using the Philippines as his hometown. Gamit nya san diego calif.

Dude , Gesta is a Cebuano, lumad Sugbo-anon...a Pinoy thru and thru.

Gesta lost to an opponent who back-pedaled all night long and don’t want to fight toe to toe. In frustration, Gesta even put down his hands just to lure Vasquez and fight head on. Watch the fight again. Gesta’s way of fighting is not like Pacs whirlwind style of fighting that sometimes boomerang back at him in devastating effect... Give Gesta a chance, he only have one lose. One day he’ll be up there with the rest of the Pinoy greats.

using the ring against a flat footed opponent = being smart

not making adjustments even though your opponent is toying with you = being stupid

show boating even though your opponent is boxing your ears off = being a deuchebag

:)

i've never been upset watching a Pinoy boxing like what i'd felt watching Gesta in his first crack at world championship. so lazy, flat footed, no passion or will to win. i have all the bad words for him while watching it on the big screen. for those full 12 rounds he never bothered to change or adjust his style. like most of you had mentioned, he's all "porma". i don't want to watch this boxer again! sakit sa mata at kalooban.. grrrr!!

Maybe he thought he was winning - so why change strategy from Round 1?
He was even disappointed when the announced winner was not him :biglaugh:

PS. All the screaming I did was for nothing. Thought he was saving his salvo in the final rounds. He should change his monicker from "No Mercy" to "No Brains". Or send him to prison to learn how to fight for his life.. ;)

the question is why doesn't he want the announcer to say that he was from the philippines instead of USA? he was already an adult when he came to the US unlike somebody like Nonito who was only 10 when they immigrated to the USA yet he still wants to be announced as a fighter from Gensan, Philippines.

?Huh?...watch here @ mark 4:01 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36_a8QyFrjA

Announcer: “...a Pinoy in red, white, blue and gold...from Mandaue, Philippines...”

For your info Mandaue is a famous city in Cebu known for their tasty bibingka.
