I really couldn't understand how boxrec works. They have Along Denoy rated higher than Bert Batawang, Juanito Rubillar and Rodel Mayol. I'm just wondering what has he done to merit such a lofty rating?

Care to answer the query Jeremy? :o

But on to a schedule update:

Condes to defend his title on Feb. 16 against Raul Garcia. Does that mean his rematch with Rachman isn't pushing through?

The boxrec ratings are computerized without human interference, so they are prone to look a bit silly sometimes. I do know that recent losses to top competition do cause a boxer to fall a bit and that the ratings are based more on what a boxer has done lately, rather than what the boxer accomplished more than 2 years ago. Try to think of the boxrec ratings that way and you will see that #19 Rodel Mayol is 2-2 since January 2006, with a victory against #26 Lorenzo Trejo and #231 Masatsuga Okada. Bert Batawang is 5-0, 5KO in the last 2 years with his most impressive victory coming February 24, 2007 against Sofyan Efendi (7-3-1, 6KO according to boxrec)...However Efendi is actually (17-3-1) with 10 bouts not reported. If these Efendi bouts ever get reported his rating will rise in boxrec. The other 4 Batawang wins came against lesser opposition and Along Dinoy is coming off of a huge victory to a formidable opponent in Thailand as well as a big victory in the U.S. against a formidable opponent in the U.S., so Dinoy has the bigger victories recently. Hopefully this explanation will involve a less head scratching.. :?
