I've been always meaning to transfer the top fighters from the 'Young, Up-And-Coming Filipino Boxers' thread (plus the ones who I couldn't include due to their 'not-so-young' age) to their own thread.

Pre, how about adding Dindo "Diesel" Castanares in the welterweight division. He is currently the WBF Champ.

Just checked his record on boxrec.
http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=22032

He lost his last 4 fights (3 by KO/TKO). Among his 7 losses, he was stopped in all except one of them. Hard to put him in the 'Top Filipino Boxers' group.

Of course, if he starts winning again like he used to earlier in his career, we could add him in the future.

I was thinking about it. But after his 1st round KO loss to Simson Butar Butar last Sept 2006 (where he was dropped from the ALA Stable for his misconduct), I thought I'd give him even just one more fight to see if he'd be ready to be considered a contender. ALA has taken him back since then (if I remember correctly). I believe he's close if he keeps it all together.

As of now, I still kept him on the 'Up-and-Comers' list:
