Oil firms roll back gas prices today
By Danessa Rivera (The Philippine Star) | Updated April 5, 2016 - 12:00am

MANILA, Philippines - After several weeks of price increases, motorists will see price cuts across fuel products today amid the expanding glut in the international oil market.

In a text advisory, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. said it reduced gasoline prices by P0.15 per liter, diesel by P0.60 per liter and kerosene by P0.40 per liter effective 6 a.m. today.

SeaOil Philippines Inc. also implemented a similar price adjustment this morning.

In separate advisories, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines and PTT Philippines also rolled back diesel prices by P0.60 per liter and gasoline by P0.15 per liter effective 6 a.m.

At 6 p.m. yesterday, Eastern Petroleum Corp. already implemented a cut in pump prices ahead of other oil players.

This week’s price adjustment is due to the perceived oversupply of oil in the market, Department of Energy-Oil Industry Management Bureau director Melita Obillo said.

Headlines ( Article MRec ), pagematch: 1, sectionmatch: 1
“The market is still oversupplied. The reason we saw price increases in the past few weeks is because of speculation of traders of a production freeze in the upcoming OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) and non-OPEC meeting on April 17,” she said.

Obillo said all eyes are on the result of the meeting.

However, the DOE official noted analysts predict oil prices will continue a seesaw movement, depending on new developments.

Fuel just got a bit cheaper
June 21st, 2016

LOCAL oil companies announced cuts in the prices of petroleum products following a drop in international crude prices last week amid recovering oil production and concerns of slower energy demand in case Britain exits the European Union.

Shell reduced gasoline prices by 65 centavos per liter, diesel also by 65 centavos and kerosene by 45 centavos at 6 a.m. today.

Seaoil and Flying V implemented the same price cuts at 12:01 a.m.

Eastern Petroleum reduced gasoline and diesel prices by 65 centavos per liter effective 12:01 a.m.

Total and Unioil lowered gasoline and diesel prices by 65 centavos starting at 6 a.m.

Oil is presently hovering over the $47 per barrel to $50 per barrel range.

Gasoline, kerosene prices slashed Tuesday
By: Amy R. Remo
@inquirerdotnet
Philippine Daily Inquirer
08:35 PM July 4th, 2016

MANILA – Local oil companies are slashing prices of petroleum products effective Tuesday (July 5), to reflect the softening of oil prices in the global market.

According to separate advisories, Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp. and Seaoil Philippines will slash prices of gasoline products by 60 centavos a liter, and of kerosene, by 20 centavos a liter.

No price adjustment was implemented for diesel products. Phoenix Petroleum Philippines and PTT Philippines had implemented the same price rollback but only for their respective gasoline products. Other oil companies, meanwhile, are expected to implement same adjustments on Tuesday.

Based on the latest oil monitor report from the Department of Energy (DOE), crude oil prices have been declining “on worries about the global economy, a weaker-than-forecast fall in United States (US) stockpiles and expected pick-up in oil output.”

Other developments affecting prices of the Dubai crude oil and finished petroleum products included concerns about faltering growth in China, largely due to industrial overcapacity and spiraling debt; the International Monetary Fund warning of a lopsided global economic growth; and a modest US crude inventory, among others, the DOE report further stated.
