As far as I know, NFPA standard does not specifically says one must install sprinkler system for the FP/JP...
Imagine if nasusunog na ang FP and JP, who will supply water to the hydrant lines? :lol:

What will cause the FP to catch fire? Fuel/electrical causes?
Do you think you can fight B and C fires with water?

Just conduct a fire study/HIRARC na lang..
Consider the frequency, probability, severity and the risk priority number..
If the cause of fire is not the firepump /jockey pump itself, try to address the root causes.
Kasi if you will install sprinkler system sa firepump area mo, once nag leak ang sprinkler heads, you will surely damage the electrical/electronic components of your FP/JP...

Fire pump buildings or rooms enclosing diesel engine pump drivers and day tanks must be protected with an automatic sprinkler system. ... An approved or listed source of heat must be provided for maintaining the temperature of a pump room or pump house, where required, above 40 °F.

Hinahanap ko Electric driven kung kailangan..

Eto pagkakaintindi ko...
You may install sprinkler system sa building or room used to enclose your fuel tank..
Installing sprinkler system sa inside the firepump room is not necessary..
You will just damage the controller of your fire pump pag nabasa ng tubig which may result to malfunction of your whole FP/JP.
A 20lb FEX or 150lb FEX will be used as your fire protection in the area...

Pero if you really want to install, just try to propose this project..
Let's say what will be the reaction of your bosses... :lol:

Hydrostatic testing means you will have to subject your pipeline to a test to ensure it can withstand the desired pressure prior to your operation.

Hydrostatic testing a simple pipepline (no joints and valves in system) requires the use of welded flanges on both sides (ends) of the pipe. With one end closed with a plain flange disk, pressurized water is introduced to the other end provided with a pressure gage to monitor the test pressure.

The pipe is then subjected to a test pressure equivalent to the tensile strength or ultimate stress asd may be required by an applicable test procedure. By inspection, no leaks or distortions should be detected during test. Sometimes Non Destructive Tests (NDT) may be required in addition to visual inspection.

An alternative to hydrostatic testing is air or gas test. Air testing is usually conducted with lower test pressures to avoid explosions. Air testing is more applicable with piping systems with joints and valves in the pipeline.
