good luck bro Retz. the place is really beautiful, that's what I can assure!

I used to walk on that white sand beaches when i was very young.

pardon me bro, i just want to share a piece of my life story......,
my family actually lived in a place called Nibong it's about 30-40 mins walk from Gumasá
my parents main business is a small sari-sari store and buying fish from local fishermen to be later sold to Glan market
(hence they are called tindero ug tindera, lab-asero/lab-asera)

no matter how hard life is, my parents always put in their mind (especially my mom) the importance of good education.
during those days (car)transport access is only accesible in Gumasá from Nibong so we have to walk and believe me walking in that fine white sand beaches sometimes irritates my eyes  and my tsinelas sink in the sand...
so better to walk on bare feet!

my memories from that place involves the locals as well. Local people used to live a few feet away from the shore and now they move to the higher ground to give the place it's full potential to be shared.

btw, Nibong has white sand as well but privately owned. nevermind i'm talking about Gumasá

bai botiks and bai butits, nice place you have there. Glan is a perfect place to enjoy nature. Ganda pa ng kalsada. Yup, tapos na yung segment papunta sa Gumasa.

Bro Retz, indeed you should go to Gumasa. Di ka magsisisi. :D

SARANGANI'S NEWEST RESORT: ISLAND GARDEN OF THE SEA ::
By Russtum G. Pelima

GUMASA, Sarangani (January 8, 2010) – Christmas season has ended, and just as the summer wind heats up, beach goers and summer beach sports enthusiasts will surely find this fascinating place that lies in the celebrated Sarangani Bay .

Pinkish, white sand pebbled shoreline and crystal clear seawater is a soul-absorbing view Isla Jardin Del Mar offers right away.

Isla Jardin Del Mar is a Spanish name which means “ Island Garden of the Sea”. The resort queues farthest among the scores of other resorts emerging in Gumasa white sand beaches. It is set to open on January 23.

“Our family enjoyed the beach for 20 years privately,” said Charlemagne Tan-Delfino, the resort’s manager. “It took us two years of planning to get help from the barangay to provide us the road right of way. With the help of Governor Migs (Dominguez) and Mayor (Yoyong) Yap , it becomes a reality.”

Charlemagne is the daughter of SAFII Group of Company’s President and CEO, Marfenio Tan, a fishing magnate in General Santos City and owner of the number one resort hotel in Sarangani, Isla Parilla in Alabel, and Sydney Hotel in General Santos City.

Isla Jardin Del Mar is a 34-hectare land area. The management decided to have its 15 hectares for site development for the resort. In an aerial view, Isla Jardin looks like a peninsula connected to a small island through the years, with the cottages and a restaurant floating over two separate white sand bars.

The pinkish white shoreline stretches and curves 750 meters, which gives the beachfront an impression as if the resort is a small island.

Cottage accommodation is P2,000 - air-conditioned, bamboo-finished with terrace and standard washroom and free breakfast - good for two. Another ten cottages are fan-ran for only P1,500 for four guests. At the other side of the restaurant is found the open cottages.

Just at the other side of the road is a lagoon. “There will be crabs and a fish pond in the future so we can do fishing,” Delfino disclosed. It is a breathtaking view of a small lake and the Sarangani Bay atop the hills which serve as the boundary for Isla Jardin Del Mar.

“We have mountain trekking beginner’s trail for 30 minutes both sides of the resort where you can see the spectacular Gumasa coastal view,” Delfino said. Two standard volleyball courts are also under construction.

About 25 meters from shoreline is the “garden” of corals 300 meters wide. “Our guests will surely enjoy the coral reef and colorful coral fish.”

Isla Jardin Del Mar is three kilometers from the main road. At the terminal in poblacion, one can ride a habal-habal going there for P50.

According to some there still some areas that needs improvement since very new pa ang place like yung hillside road papasok sa resort makitid pa raw, and there are areas that were still under construction, but over-all, maganda daw yung place, malawak at secured. Maybe in the near future magkakaroon na rin ng mga adventure gadgets such as banana boat, para-sails, jet ski, etc...

Con: Meron din daw Corkage :( "pumupunta ka sa beach to enjoy at hinde para kutongan...
besides mas masarap magluto si mrs kesa sa chef ng resto
kaya kami nagpapakapagod prepare ng food to bring...

increasan na lang entrance fee pero wag lang mangutong sa mga food na dadalahin ng guests...
kasi ang food na dala ng guests ay ang mga paborito na food na hinde kayang pantayan ng lasa mga resto chefs..
."

Eto yung magbabayad ka pag may dala kang food and beverage kasi walang kikitain yung Resto pag nagbaon yung mga guest :(
Sana tanggalin ito ng management. But if money is not an issue sayo, Ok lang kaso wawa yung mga ultimong guest na kagaya ko
hehe. Anyway there's always room for improvement and Im pretty sure the management is keen on resolving this one. 8)
