anyone here ( East and West coast US ) currently using solar power? IS it worth it? Do you own it or leasing? Share your experience here. :D

Ala atang interesado sa green energy dito. Kaya pamahal ng pamahal ang gas dahil wala silang competensya. Beside fossil fuel use is environmental hazzard. It should be phased out and be replaced with renewable sources.

Karamihan sa mga pinoy mareklamo mahal ang gas mahal ang kuryente pero hindi naman gumagawa ng hakbang para mabago ang situasyon. Outlook is so short sighted. If can't perceive any immediate benefit, most pinoys won't do it.

Right now solar system is very expensive especially if you choose to be off the grid. Each battery could cost $400 a piece and average homes probably needs 30 plus. Though solar panels are getting cheaper lately, the unforseen repair cost adds up.if you average 8,000 kwh/ yr your average monthly electric bill probabl runs about $130/month. So the viable option would be to lease the solar system that covers about 80-90% of your energy needs. Monthly lease usually less than $100/month for a 6kw solar panel . Conrract ranges from 15-20 years. If more people use solar panel this will drive down the solar price and also gas and electric in the long run. This eill lead to more development of more efficient renewable energy source.

It's true that using solar power will decrease your utility bill.....and sometimes the utility company even pays you monthly for cycling some of that power source through the grids.

medyo bro hindi pa popular ans solar power sa pinas but nag pi pick up nman and demands for solar panels
mahal paang presyo dito nyan. cheaper costs of electricity but the cost of constructing solar panels are not yet marketable

ipagdasal natin na bumaba ang presyo nyan at ng mapakinabangan ng maraming pilipino :biglaugh: :biglaugh:

They cal that SREC. You only get paid if you ownnthe equipment. If you lease what u get is net metering. Meaning if your solar exceeds your useage, the meter runs backwards. There are times you only pay $2 . Thats about the minimum u pay for keeping the account.
