But to be honest, I think Ioka won (7-5), though very close...

I thought Ioka did enough ... should have been a draw . Anyway, lucky for Nietes, as he should have won his last one.

Looks like boxing twitter thinks Ioka won :

After the mandatory, I hope he'll unify against Yafai or fight Estrada or Cuadras...

Then try fighting a 118-pounder for an interim or the WBA (Regular) belt in a catchweight of 116.5 for his final fight...

Also thought Ioka won... The fight is so close... I think I need to watch the replay...

But yes, Nietes deserves the belt... Should've been his since the Palicte fight...

On the other hand, Ioka is still young, he can still win a title after everything in this division and above calms down... Other champions are also tough...

Nietes won most of the early rounds, he connected the cleaner more crispier blows. If you noticed most of Nietes' punches came inside the wider punches of Ioka, although the Japanese being younger showed more activity and appeared to be the stronger fighter. If only Nietes had more pop, he would have decked Ioka.

To secure his first-ballot HoF enlistment, he should become a lineal champion by beating SSR and beat another future HoFer that is Chocolatito... That might also set-up a debate on who must be ranked higher in the Top 10 ATG Pinoy Champs between him and Donaire...

I think Sor will choose Nietes and feel safer fighting Nietes than Ancajas.

It would be nice to see Nietes fight Gonzalez, and Ancajas fight Sor, both Pinoys can win those fights.

Good if Nietes will face these foreign champions and not face any Pinoy fighters soon...
So he can prove he really belong with the big boys...

Ilang beses natalo si JerryPens sa Japan na split decision or majority decision?
Good thing this time, hindi na Hapon ang pinaboran ng mga judges...
