Are these young ALA/Pinoy boxers (with talent) taught in any way how to deal with dirty (gulang) tactics of their opponents? those body punches he received during clinching were like free kick in soccer. how come he let it happened repeatedly? i don't like dirty tactics but it's not bad to stay a way from it. i think being "clean fighters" image is not ALA boxers ticket to stardom.

to ALA boxers: "be smart" (matoto kayong manggulang)

AJ did a great start but obviously (like others said) lost steam... really common to this camp. :(

AJ, you better ask Manny personally for more tricks.

AJ knows that concepcion is doing on a clinch... giving some head and kidney punches...
but what did he do??? nothing! lateral move or staying away won't give a d@mn... aj didn't punch while clinching even though there are many times aj's right hand is free... ala fighters have the skill but not the brain of an experienced fighter... ALA lacks experience...

I really thought that Banal would win, he was winning a large margin in early rounds.
But I'd seen a lot of flows on his corner.

Bautista and Banal are both talented fighters, but I think they should fire up
this ALA trainers, they have nothing to offer, ganun at ganun na lang ang estilo ng stance nila which very wide open to a body shot and bolo punches.

ALA stables sucks bigtime.

“In my honest opinion, he was over-trained and he was too excited to become the champion and he was his own worst enemy. I also believe he will recover and become a world champion someday,” said matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz

Yep guys....AJ was not in his usual game..He had taken so much body shots from El Torito that drained his strength up to the 10th round where he was KOED and did not make the referee's count....El Torito is a dirty fighter who used so many dirty tactics..But in the end it was those body shots that made the huge difference..Congrats to EL Torito.....

Congratz Concepcion!!! Ur d man!!! I mean Bernabe

Rafael "EL TORITO" CONCEPCION of Panama defeated our very own AJ BANAL. After a day, our only consolation is our own Bernabe CONCEPCION TKOed Adam "EL TORITO" Carrera. Hehehehehe

In my point of view, what makes AJ surrender was the body punches he absorb from Concepcion. It was an accumulation of punches from round one.. however this punches came while concepcion is clinching on banal.. unfortunately banal did not do something on it, he just allow him to do it... Look at how concepcion clinches on banal while being tagged by AJ.. The clinch really made the difference.

Wild Card Gym would be the right place for him
imagine you have...
trainer/coach Freddie Roach
assistant trainer Edito or Buboy...
conditioning coaches Eric Brown and Alex Ariza
plus with the world class sparring partners...
wow! imagine that!
how good "Bazooka" Banal would be
it's gonna be a different if he would trained Wild Card Gym for 2 or 3 months
then the last 2 weeks before the fight would go back to Philippines at
ALA Boxing Gym in Cebu... to finish the last training regimen...
if the fight scheduled in the Philippines...
i think Banal should try this plan for the next time for the next fight
and it could help and effective...

Absolutely right!! because ALA gym has no good conditioning coach, If they dont change their styles, same thing will happen in the future. disgusting trainer!

W kaha kapusta c AJ sa pikas? trans: Concepcion is very good.

hey ramrod, how did you hold up with the main event? the way i saw it, a lot of people went out instantly before the official announcement was made. anyway, i was at the side taking pictures and stayed to close my jaw that was dropped by that shocking 10th round KO. i had a hint that Banal was on the decline on the closing rounds but i'm still a fan. as long as banal is able to turn this loss to something positive that can catapult him to stardom, i just think he's gonna make it!

i just have this little observation of mine that everytime one of our fighters lose, we mock and desert him right away. i remember, when bumbum was KTFO in the 1st round last year, all the bashing intesified and others say AJ was a better prospect. some say AJ's talented, packs a punch, has a good defense, a durable chin, etc.. but now that AJ has fallen, paclanders hurl degrading coments at him like they were the ones throwing punches and taking the beating in the ring that night for AJ. now, some switched to concepcion's wagon who battered his mexican rival in the 3rd round just recently. if conception falls, will we take the stand and still be his fan?

during this trying times is when our boxers need the support of boxing fans like us. we all fail at times, and boxers are no excuse; how we rise from the said pitfall separates the winners from the losers.
