The ref wasnt biased. You guys are biased.

The ref handled that as best he could and he did what was needed to be done. Whta did you expect, he should just let the tapes go flapping about? Let Concepcion stuble on his own shoe string? HE called a halt when the action halted and that is how you handle those. He didnt step in and called for a re tape when the boxers were trading, he stepped in whed they separated and he did OK. And the point deduction for Banal was merited as Banal CLEARLY let out his frustrations by hitting after the bell.

To say that the ref did well will be an overstatement. True that he handled the fight the best way he could but unfortunately, his best was not enough for him to be able to dish out a worthy officiating of that fight. Banal lost via KO, and we do not argue with that. It is very clear however that in many occasions, the ref's actuations went against Banal all the time. COncepcion lived up to his monicker as "Torito", bulling his way inside Banal's defense, and in no less than five times did he use his head to gain headway, headbutting Banal. It may have been part of the game, which we may call "gulang", but Caiz, Jr should have at least warned the Panamanian which he never did. When it was Banal's turn to commit an infraction out of frustration, the ref was very prompt to have deducted a point against Banal without the benefit of a prior warning, and this despite the fact that the blow inflicted no harm, which the ref should have been wise enough to consider taking into consideration that his action might have influenced the outcome should the fight go the distance. Banal was at the receiving end of many "panggugulang", including a low blow which the ref failed to see so i won't fault him for that. Banal lost to a smart fighter who knew how to take advantage of the situation, and seeing that the ref allowed him to do his thing, he was encouraged more to bully his way inside using his head as added weapon. And, btw, it was also clear that in some instances, Concepcion kept pounding on Banal's side of the body during clinches even when they have been instructed to break; and the ref never admonished the Panamanian in those instances. For him to have deducted promptly a point against Banal for throwing a single punch which was not even a legitimate punch is utterly biased. I don't take credit away from Concepcion, he did a great job exploiting his advantages. Caiz has much to thank the Panamanian for by putting the result of the fight beyond doubt, had it gone the distance and Banal lost a close call because of Caiz's faulty officiating, hell would have broken loose in Cebu last night. Good thing we are not biased fans, and knew how to accpet defeat gracefully. As for Caiz, i think he better shape up, for it is not all the time that he will be officiating a fight in a venue peopled by intelligent boxing fans.

Ive always liked Banal, but yeah. He quit on himself there. But I aint going too hard on him. Ive discussed this here a long time ago during the time everybody was riding the Bautista bandwagon. A 20 yr old, no matter how talented, is still a 20 yr old. Their bodies cant take the same damage as a 25 yr old man. Banal's essentially just a kid. But yeah, he quit on himself there.

Wake up guys! :brokenhearted:

Banal lost and its a very good lesson for him. I believe most of us here knows he will come back more stronger, that makes a warrior made of. :thunder:

For those who are non believers and saying banal is a bum just keep it to yourself! :vomit2: At least Banal, Boom2x etc... made something to make us proud to be Pinoy.

All of us are disappointed but our kababayan boxers need our support for their stronger comeback.

note: Our great PACMAN KOed 2x in his 3losts but look at him now, He is the #1 lb4lb...

For those who are crab filipinos go to the Mexi or Panamanian Forum and there you post your stupid opinions and ideas! :verymad:
