No Common weakness to all Pinoy fighters....

well maybe...height, most of our weight are in our calves. Try comparing the legs of our boxers to other nationalities. I think we really have big calves. ;)

i still would like to blame the style rather than stamina.

Milan Melindo is an exemption--he has a different style (not of ALA's).
He should not change his style.

I also think it was the style of AJ that became his flaw during the fight with concepcion.

I just hope they teach him phone booth fighting while he is still young.

oh, yeah. i agree--that phone booth fighting--ala kelly pavlik.

Yep...if onyl matches are all 6 rounders, maybe we will have countless of world champions.

IALA should focus in Amateur boxing since it's just 4 rounders. Go for Olympic gold!!!

There are only 4 Pinoy boxers that have world class boxing skills, talent, experience and pit bull attitude: Manny, Gerry, Brian and Nonito.

Everyone else have average or below average boxing skills, talent and experience. The current Pinoy boxer is so preoccupied with offense, they are so brain washed that styles sells the fight, that they forgot about defense.

They are so fundamentally weak on defense. its amazing they can last more than 4 rounds against world class competition. Second they lack counter punching skills. Third and most important they do not have the killer instinct, mental toughness, skills, training and pit bull attitude to retaliate and destroy pressure/dirty boxers with a passion.

If you have average or below average boxing skills, one should embrace the Mayweather and Guzman style of boxing and concentrate on your defensive skills. At least you can defend yourself and run instead of being punched like a punching bag, legal or not. Trying to be an aggressive boxer with no defensive skills is stupid and suicidal.

No matter how conditioned you are, or much you use a nutrionist, or any 1001 excuses, if you don't have world class defensive skills to defend yourself, you'll never make it to the later rounds, let alone win the fight.

Bernabe Concepcion could be another. The way he fought in his latest fight (although against a nobody) showed incredible boxing skill and power. Under Roach's tutiledge he should become a world champ soon.

There's also money in amateur boxing nowadays. Manny even offers to give 1 m if a boxer wins a gold. ;)

I hope Harry will win Gold at Beijing, he was tipped to be a silver medalist by Sports Illustrated.
