Killer Instinct, Durability, Stamina, Strategy.. he is not pushing el torito when clinching on him.

I noticed two glaring flaws in AJ during the Concepcion fight:
1. He doesn't know how to fight on the fly. There's no question that AJ is most effective when he's on the attack. His problem is, he doesn't throw punches when on the retreat. This was Barrera's weakness when he first fought Manny, and Pacman and Roach took it to him every minute of every round. AJ should also learn not to back-up straight when his opponent is on the attack.

2. AJ should stop thinking that the only way to beat an opponent is to knock him out. He's got more skills than Pacman did at the same age. You can't knock everyone out every time out. He has to have a Plan B whenever he meets someone he can't put down. AJ and Miguel Cotto suffered the same fate only hours apart. Both simply broke down when they met someone they couldn't put away.

Other flaws...maybe his hair...hehehhe.

ALA boys should try growing their hair. ;) They might try using green trunks also.

The biggest flaw is in technique. He thought he can overpower anybody (boom boom also). They cannot use the Mike Tyson template anymore. (Suico was like that also) They should watch the classics (Ali, Leonard, Etc.)
And change the network coveror and the commentator as they are jinx as you suggested in another thread. Anymore of your wise counsel, bro?

simply they just rely on their power, they dont have plan b and c and so on , one of that is to fight whole 12rounds no matter how good their opponent is they should have the will to survive. :boxing: :boxing:

Just look at how Rafael Concepcion did -- TRAILING but has a strategy or other Plans of beating his opronent. Banal was leading early on but his corner seemed satisfied with it. 'Ala strategy at all ALA.

1. poor defense—he didn’t know what to do with those body punches during clinch. even though it’s illegal he should have held concepcion’s arm. he also very prone to left hooks to the head and body
2. poor & powerless jab—I think it has something to do with his stance and positioning of his right hand.
3. poor body punching—I don’t why he couldn’t throw body punches to the side of concepcion’s body. he kept throwing those effortful straight lefts to the body—and all it did was push concepcion away.
4. stance—banal has the stance of a counter puncher. the problem is he is not a very good counter puncher. he don’t throw lots of quick combinations. but regardless of the stance, I think he should learn these quick combinations.
5. couldn’t finish—being a one-punch knockout artist I think follow up is something new to him.
6. no economy of moves—he was bouncing unnecessesarily and therefore wasted his energy.

anymore?

let’s help this this kid.

Based on the replies of Paclanders . . . he's got much more than just six flaws.

He should have continued what he did in the early rounds. He should not have allowed rafael concepcion to hug him all the time. Banal should have stepped away or pushed him away to show he means business, or punch him also while in the clinch. He should follow up after strong punches

AJ Banal was too cautious and too hesitant to go for the kill...

He staggered Concepcion a couple of times...but he has no determination to finish his opponent....tsk tsk tsk.....

I wonder how many ribs AJ broke on that fight  :? No defense on those body shots...His stance exposes his body, open for body hooks, concepcion's team surely studied AJ's previous fights...

Hope he learns from this and get better.

trans: Back to the drawing board for AEV and AJ... :(
