no matter how well conditioned you are and if you kept on absorbing those body punches your body just couldn't take it anymore and you will eventually go down. :boxing:

First of, Concep is hugely understimated here.. No one knows a thing about him. He is a battler and AJ couldn't put him away. That's what happened in there. Aj broke apart. He fought a guy that was tough. Very tough.

Training: 2 months is a long time. big world load for the kid. ALA find out what's the best prep time. ANd how hard, is good. For the boxer. Style all the same. One-twos that it bounce-bounce one-two.

Just move without bouncing like Pac.

Alduguer is too ambitious. These Filipino pugs are too young to be world champs.

Banal and Boom2x, etc should representing the Philippine Olympic Boxing team at this stage of their careers not fighting professionally

They're being inadvertently set up for failure

It takes years to become a champion

Add a little more combination's and learn to tie up his opponents arm. Footwork and ring generalship are alright. Stamina...maybe he peaked too early.

This is a good loss for AJ Banal who is used to winning fights via the short route. This will encourage him to train harder so he can last the distance.

As I see it, AJ has been in good shape during the fight, as to what others say he has been dehydrated, I don't agree with them. There has been a lapse in his fighting style and suggest that his trainers correct this. Though AJ as I see got talent, I could see that sometimes his moves are off-timed. In my opinion, the real culprit in AJ's defeat was he allowed himself to be hit on his sides too often, and his trainers nor himself did nothing. Because of that, don't tell me that he's been dehydrated, the real reason was that it took it's toll and weakened him in the latter rounds, that's it. In short, inexperience as to strategy on the trainers including the boxer. :(

It seems that Banal like Boom Boom are NOT tough, rugged fighters. They always start out with guns blazing full of confidence looking for the KO style but when the opponent get tough and takes the shots, Banal and Boom Boom break down. They get confused and then break down. In the case of Boom Boom, he gets TKOed, in the case of AJ he quits.

I agree. They've gotten used to fighting Mexican / Thai patsies because that's exactly what they were fed from the beginning of their careers. Unfortunately, boxing is not just about physical toughness but also mental toughness.

Memo to Boom-Boom: AVOID PONCE DE LEON LIKE THE PLAGUE

What exactly went wrong?

My Answer: EXPERIENCE.

not just for AJ but for the entire team.

to all ALA boys: keep on boxing and be FOCUSED. do the extra mile. work extra hard on training with or without a scheduled fight. stay away from anything that harm your body. be challenged. PRAY.

Prior to this fight. the signs was good.I didn't see any obvious weakness. Unlike Gorres and Boom we saw their weakness early in their career. With AJ I didn't see it. I failed to see it. Upon learning about the killer body shots that broke him apart. Come to think of it.. I am not surprise. He is indeed easy to hit on the abs. Review his previous tapes prior to this fight. His defense for the body punch is weak. He exposes it. Now.Why didn't Villamor know this? But it's not an obvious thing to see.Villamor must now correct this. Prevent the body shots and head shots ( boom-boom). you can't prevent it but plzzzzzzzzzzz minimize it, now!! ANd plz get your training right. And improve your zip. Too predictable. No zip. Hop, hop one-two aint working at the higher level..
