I notice top prospects like Mares and Gamboa don't hop as much as ALA boys. They move well with out bouncing up and down. I know Pacquiao is a bouncy fighter. But is it a good style for Aj? Why not conserve energy keep it to a minimal.Aj moves he hops away and bounces on one spot and he can't throw if his feet are constantly not planted on the ground.Just move his feet conventionally. If you think that the style is good then defend it.

What do you'se think?

Good observation bro.

Almost all hispanic trainers don't like their fighters to hop around especially moving forward and backward..they want you to 'glide' with your feet.
They also don't like you to drop your lead hand.

However, 'hopping' is accepted or even recommended to certain situations..And could actually carry the fighter to victory if used effectively.

'Hopping Around' the whole time on all fights is a different story.

There are instances when hopping helps propel and add more force to a fighter's punch. The downside to hopping a lot is it expends energy. Well conditioned fighters need not worry about this.
