What's your take amigos?

It was a courageous decision by ref Tapdasan considering the visitors might think that he's securing his countryman's win and it was at the very first round. This is the second time I saw ref Tapdasan stop a bit early.

Good stoppage. It "looked" premature, albeit it wasn't. It was a good stoppage because Hidalgo had lost control of his body after taking that left from Banal, and any further damage could have had a lasting effect on him both physically and mentally. It looked premature because it was just one punch, not even Banal's strongest punch, just a punch that landed perfectly on Hidalgo. And the crowd's reaction didn't help, cricket noises was all I heard.

It's a great stoppage for Atty Tapdasan as you can see the punch that just landed clearly shows Hidalgo is out of nowhere .

Good stoppage.. While ref was separating the two, Hidalgo was still swinging his arms as if he's punching and was clearly out of his senses.. :hat:

that Banal shot elicited a Hidalgo reaction which reminded me of Montiel twitching on the floor after being mugged by Nonito ...

think ref Tapdasan made the right call. 8)

Congrats AJ Banal! :)

its a premature stoppage!!!! clear as day.... clearly banal`s opponent got stunned after a good left (not sure) but he was still conscious and he was struggling to have his balance back.. and he was still fighting back throwing punches... Banal may have won but he didnt learn much needed experience to make him a good title contender, hope he works more on his stamina , its his achillies heel IMO...

Hidalgo is fighting back heads down even when the ref was holding him, does it look like he's on his senses?! :biglaugh: :biglaugh: :biglaugh:
