all due respect to Mr. Secuya, its not about heart anymore. Banal just isnt very good. It takes a special fighter to be a champion - Donaire and Pacquiao held theit titles more than one defense and continue to be a top fighters in their weight class. Luisito Espinosa, Flash Elorde....these are stellar fighters who didnt fight mostly bums.

Guys like Brian Viloria are also very skilled fighters who win belts and title defenses.

AJ Banal is a lower level fighter. Of course personally i believed he would beat the unknown Thai, but he lost. Looking back, its no surprise. the same reasons why he lost against Concepcion are the same reasons he lost again.

First of all, its not his heart, but his chin. He doesnt take well to pain. Some fighters just have glass jaws. Look at Khan. Some fighters cant take body shots, as what happened to Ciso Morales.

Anyway, i find it fascinating the reactions to Banal's loss. We all root for him cuz his pinoy, but lets move on. Even ALA Promotions realized theres other "fish in the sea" and they will continue atleast to develop world champions.

I still think that it's his heart, or rather lack of it, that's the real problem.

Irrelevant it is not.

He is still trying to resurrect his career.

Thus, this thread has become relevant again.

AJ should spend more time in training rather than facebooking.

Facebooking is fun, fun, fun. But training is about hard work, discipline, sacrifice and pain - who would want that?

feels like he just doesnt have the fortitude, mentally and physically, i guess. can we equate that with having a 'heart' in this sport? i dont know. but it should be close.

Should be.

He doesn't have the heart.

Mag apply na lang syang welder o truck driver sa Saudi. He doesn't have to worry dahil may Facebook rin dito.

Nice article by Dong Secuya:

Anyways, Senator Chiz Escudero could have won that fight easily.

He already has Heart Evangelista.

heart without a talent and skill is a bum...

He fought, but he did not have an answer when his opponent kept on coming. He lost steam, his punches could not stop his foe, he got confused, lost his bearings and went into survival mode.

At least he didn't do a Victor Ortiz. This term should be added to the boxing dictionary. Duran was one of my idols, and he darn quit too ! And they dare compare him to the Pacman :). Banal could have done an Erik Morales, sit down on the floor, look at Aldeguer, shake his head, let the referee finish the count.

But he did not. He has heart, he just doesn't have enough skills and stamina training. That writer is wrong, he has it the wrong way around. ALA better forget that writer and improve their training. Hire Nacho or Garcia 8). If ALA does not see this lack of skills/coaching, like being smart and changing tactics, they will forever be a losing stable.

He quit fighting for at least three times. Talagang proven na na duwag.

Mag laro na lang sya ng sungka para hindi sya masaktan.
