I wish Wesley can win against Karjakin. Even if he did not fare well in this tournament, a win against the current tournament leader is an excellent way to finish the tournament.

As I mentioned before, I was rooting for one of my "boys", Caruana/Aronian to win the candidates and Caruana did not disappoint :-) . It will be an interesting match between him and Catrlsen for the world championship but I am sure my favorite "boy", Magnus, will prevail.
As for your boy , So, nothing personal, but I dont think he can ever win in a candidates' matches especially with his many nemeses (plural) still around and strong- MVL, Ding Liren, karjakin, Mamedyarov, Caruana.

Chess player performance is such a an unpredictable thing. One day a player can have a string of successes only to be followed by a string of failures. Carlsen almost lost the title to Karjakin when everyone was expecting the champion to easily defeat the challenger. I have a hunch that we will have a new world chess champion in November.

As for Wesley, his rise to top level chess is not meteoric like the others due to many factors like lack of opportunities and financial support. He had to strive really hard to get where he is right now. But through hard work,self-reliance and chess support from his new home country, he made it to top 2. Not too many expected Wesley to be successful like he did in 2016-2017. Fabiano displayed his chess excellence in the Siquenfield cup in 2014 but he only was able to become the challenger today, 4 years later. Compare that also to Aronian who has palyed in 6 Candindate tournaments in a row. Wesley is just starting, his time will come.

Wesley has no choice but to become even stronger. He already did it before when he joined the top 10 best chess players in the world. He'll do it again to become the world chess champion. :)

As this forum is dedicated specially in support of Wesley So, I am just wondering why you keep on doing posts here putting down what Wesley has achieved or done. You are out of tune here buddy, why don't you create your own forum and post there all you want about your "boy" or boylets whatever it would please you.

Wesley So's achievement as world class chess Grandmaster is unprecedented. He has singularly distinguished himself
as among the world's best which no other Filipino has ever achieved. I have faith that he will come back and win the world crown.
He is still young and he has what it takes to do it.

I say it before. I say it again. Ephesians 6

Obey and make amends to your parents before its too late.

Wag kang mag marunong. At his age parang malabo na unless ayusin nya ang personal life nya.
