HYPER-GM WESLEY SO ACHIEVES A PERSONAL MILESTONE!
THE MOZART FINALLY BECOMES OFF-TUNED AND SUCCUMBS TO A STINGING DEFEAT

Call it poetic justice for his unsuccessful campaign in the Candidates Matches.

Call it a shot in the arm to raise his game to the next level.

Call it a monkey off his back, for finally
defeating reigning world chess champion Magnus "The Mozart" Carlsen IN HIS HOME TURF!

Take it all in!!!....Soak it all in!!!

This is what HGM Wesley So has been yearning since becoming a full-fledged professional chess player. Having a secondary works wonders for him.
In my opinion, getting back in the 2800 level or hovering within the Top 10 at this point is Wesley's lesser concern. My belief is Wesley's mindset now is regaining back is killer instinct AND TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL .......and as a sweetener....AT THE EXPENSE OF "THE MOZART". It couldn't be more gratifying than that.

We all know he still yet to conquer MVL but that moment is coming very soon.

His resounding victory over "The Mozart" is absolutely moral-boosting at the grandest.

WELCOME BACK HYPER-GM WESLEY SO!!!

Irrespective of the results, you have legitimately arrived.

CONGRATULATIONS ONCE AGAIN!

I had to double check to see if what I saw in chessbase.com was correct, So-Carlsen 1-0. This is the first time Wesley defeated Carlsen in a chess classical game.

First you lose to them, then you draw and then you win. Go Wesley!

"MVL: Wesley is a very decent player, so provoking him is not really a wise idea."

Very decent player? Ano si Wesley, parang 2200 player lang? That sounds like a left-handed compliment. May pasaring. Humanda na si MVL.

Congratulations on the win against the WC, a feat in itself! A massive confidence-booster for our boy.

First win against Magnus in Classical. First defeat of Carlsen in 2018.

In the Norway 2018 Chess, Wesley has the highest rating performance-wise with 2856 compared to Carlsen with 2836. He is now in second place, half point behind Carlsen. However, Carlsen will have a vie (due to Ding Liren withdrawal) and a draw by Wes will tie him at first while a win will put him in good spot to win the championship.

Yes, Wesley (playing White) has finally crushed Carlsen in convincing fashion.

It’s rare to see the world champ in such a lousy final position. White’s neat play in the mid-game phase translated into some kind of ‘restraint’ -- restricting the effectiveness and coordination of Black’s pieces. In fact, Carlsen’s light-squared bishop looked pitiful in the end.

A memorable game by our boy. May he sustain his momentum right through the remainder of the tournament.

Ayokong maging kontrabida or something pero idol ko din si Wesley.

Wesley beats Carlsen in an off nigth of Carlsen.

Next time, we are hoping that Wesley beats Carlsen at Carlsen's best.

Neweys. way to go Wesley keep it up.
