I have never heard about this Rashid Nezhmetdinov until this time. This guy is amazing(he coached Tal before). Though he is not as popular as Tal or Kasparov, this guy is attacking genius(unfortunately he died young).

Just look at his marvelous deep queen sacrifices and complicated brilliant masterpiece games below.

Often times the opening system chosen by both sides leave an imprint, also known as pawn structure, that pretty much decides the course of the game.

Hmmm, in the on going candidates match, Grischuk sacrifice a piece for an attack vs Svidler.

It will be Magnus Carlsen who will challenge Anand for the world chess championship. This should be a great match.

Thanks for the guidelines on how to teach em young hehehe

Dencio - RC ako - tama ka talaga sana maliwanagan sila
pero yung good samaritan nasave din di ba

Ryan - tama lahat ng sinabi mo
concentrate on tactics and positional and endgame
wag ang opening
wag mag blitz hehehe

Surprise no one mention smirnov???
Average chess player and stop playing chess ( to think our NM IM friends play with us rookies hehehe)
Na-addict sa badminton - billiards and now guitars hehehe
My chess friends are now 2500++ in chesscube to think I can beat them 2 years ago

Not sometimes, it really helps. Even the world champion Anand still solve puzzles from books. :D

well, I think they do it to sharpen their tactics, and not to use those old traps in real games (like what happened in my case.. :D)

Well the tactics that you do is pattern, that smothered mate can happen in a 8 move combinations. So knowledge of many tactical pattern like that is important, so you can recognize a tactical shot from many moves away. In many master game that smothered mate many times happen, but in a far more complex situation like recognizing it 8 moves away.

Take a look at these some good smothered mate from master play recognize many moves away.

YOUR Pinoy chess forum is finally up!!

http://pinoychess.boards.net/

Discuss everything related to Filipino chess, among many other things! Develop camaraderie with other Filipino and non-Filipino chess fans as we talk about Wesley and the rest of the Philippine chess hopes.

There is also a dedicated forum for Barangay Wesley and for local chess clubs to organise events and tournaments.

I hope people can give this forum a chance to grow and develop to a tight knit community of chess fans.
