i hope Arian remembers me...In one of the tournaments in Metropolitan Chess Club. I playing white, she"s playing black, our opening is the Modern Benoni . I am winning the match then but his mother interrupts...I loss.

Whose mother?

Ariane Australian mother bro....but I'm proud of such mother who supports her daughter all the way. I have lost the record of our game but still the memory of that chess match remains...

I wish that I can find an opponent like Ariane who is brave enough to use the Benoni defence against me.If you dont know the line here it is....

1. d4 Nf6
2. c4 c5
3. d5 e6
4. Nc3 exd5
5. cxd4 g6
6.e4 Bg6

You see in only 6 moves, either White or black is ready to rumble! White here would try to breakthrough with e5! and Black a6, b5 and c4 breakaway!

Now who is brave enough here? 7. Nf3!

it seems you have a prepared line against benoni?
I also notice you are from rizal? were in rizal? I have relatives there, maybe if I went there we can play some friendly games, and promise I will use the benoni, but as black you should also play these lines against me

1. e4 e5
2. Bc4 nf3

Pinay chess player dies after car crash
Joey Villar (The Philippine Star ) - April 1, 2020 - 12:00am

MANILA, Philippines — Filipina-Australian Arianne Caoili, one of the finest female chess players the country has ever produced, passed away yesterday due to injuries sustained in a car crash in Yerevan, Armenia two weeks ago. She was 33.

Caoili represented the Philippines in the World Chess Olympiad in 1998 and 2000.

“I have no words to express my grief over my wife Arianne’s death,” said Caoili’s husband, Armenian Grandmaster Levon Aronian in his Twitter account @LevAronian.

Born in Manila, Caoili, then 12, made it to the national team to the Olympiad in Elista, Russia in 1998 and suited up again for Team Phl in Istanbul, Turkey in 2000.

Caoili left the country in 2004 and played in five more Olympiads, representing Australia. She topped the London Chess Classic and the Oceania Women’s Zonal Championship in 2009 to qualify to the Women’s World Championship in 2010.
