basing on both fighter's track record, it would seem that abe's is less impressive. he has a lot to overcome but with this given chance to fight a well-known boxer, hopefully he will succeed.

i think i can give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. juanma's hittable and bernabe's got sting in his punches. he'll have the proverbial puncher's chance.

we never thought pacquiao was ready for barrera the first time they fought, look what happened.

ano ngaba ang kakayahan ng tunay na pilipino? :D

seriously... Did you really think that guys like Pac, Elorde, or Villa were great fighters because of their Filipino blood or culture? if so, then why are there so many pinoy bums?

Concepcion may not be ready but with the power that he got he has a big
chance to pummel Juanma with inside fighting!

Remember what Penalosa did to Juanma? Bodyshots! If only Gerry was maybe
5years younger he could've withered Juanma with bodyshots and movments to
avoid counters.

I think Concepcion, being that young and possesses that K.O. punch, it would be
a matter of sticking to a game plan and committing to Juanma's body!

Abe's got a puncher's chance, I just hope he doesn't waste too much time and energy in doing too much movements and not taking the initiative in pushing the action forward....unlike Pac, Abe keeps on waiting for openings to capitalize in instead of creating one and even when there's an opening Abe is most of the time hesitant to capitalize on it.

the problem is, Abe is not good at that either. He could have easily bulldozed the feather fisted Luevano if only he had the guts to take some just to throw some and get inside...

yeah he wasted too much time and energy by moving alot and not taking advantages of Luevano's openings or even creating one. He was hesitant to throw a punch against a feather fisted luevano so what more so with Juanma who can punch and box? Abe just lacks the killer instinct that Manny has.

abe got a puncher's chance against lopez?of course he does but not as high as he had against luevano.he waits for opportunities to come and wants his opponent's to fight the way he wants them to fight.as if he doesn't that his opponent has a brain and he can think.of course lue won't oblige to throwing the first punch so as to give abe what he wants, and that is to counter.bahala ka sa buhay mo, balewala sa iyo suntok ko pero pag ikaw nakatama sa akin siguradong tulog ako.once abe saw lue won't fight the way he wanted him to, that was his opening that he should have capitalized on.he should have taken the initiative to be more aggressive since lue's punches has no effect on him.pero iba ginawa niya. napikon siya sa kakahintay ng walang dumating na suntok na gusto niyang icounter. against lopez, that's another story because he got power to make you respect him.his unnecessary waiting against lue is what he should be doing lopez.only difference this time is that it is necessary.trying to impose his will by trying to let lopez taste his power as early as round 1 could end up like boom2.overconfident of his power when he hasn't gauged yet if he could take his opponent's power too.

IMO, he could have destroyed Luevano as easily as Juan Ma did if only he had the balls to do so...

You're right, but for me that's the only way for him to beat Juanma. I think
guts is not the thing that bothers me about Concepcion it's more about
focusing on the game plan and not show boating that he isn't hurt with the
punches being thrown at him. I've noticed that on many Filipino fighters
that they react quickly on showing they're not hurt rather than giving
counter punch instead. OR maybe giving your opponent a nod that " you
got me there " then return to boxing and not get reckless or do stupid
things.

I've noticed that too that Concepcion concentrated too much on his
movements rather than his offense and with Juanma's caliber, he gotta pull
two things off of his sleeves. One is to have that kind of movement and
another one is to hit Juanma. If Gerry can stop or halt Juanma for a
moment with his punches, I bet Concepcion could have stronger effects
with his punches landing on Juanma.
