This might be almost 20 years ago, but when "Sang linggo na po sila" was the lunch time staple of abs-cbn, they have a portion hosted by Jet Pangan that features rock/alternative bands playing live for everyone to see.

People get to catch a glimpse of The Teeth, Parokya ni Edgar, Death by the stereo, Wolfgang among others on the embryonic stage of their careers. The show provided a much needed exposure for the bands and arguably helped in launching their careers.

I miss those times and I believe another avenue like it is badly needed.
