Another thing ......i dont understand why Americans like MMA/UFC........?

=========

Marketing pre. Also the typical 15-25 yr old American male can relate to most of the fighters in the UFC because they are mostly white too. Not only that but I find it hard to believe that MMA training can be as hard as what it takes to excel in boxing. And because MMA's training isn't as physically demanding as boxing (IMO) than the spoiled pampered while guys gravitate towards this sport as they will have an easier time with it, than if they trained for the sweet science.

I mean old guys and overweight guys can still make an impact in the game. This means that these white people can satisfy their "martial hunger" by watching a humping contest masquerading as a "fight".

nice post :lol:

Dana White has the right to criticize Oscar, but I wouldn't be so quick to judge about boxing if I was him. The last time I checked the best fighter of MMA does not get the same $$$ as an elite prize fighter. There is something wrong when it comes to paying MMA fighters.....their underpaid and Dana White and the rest of the MMA boss pockets most of the earnings.

The problem is that the UFC is a monopoly. It pays its' fighters as little as possible. 8 years ago, the Ferttita brothers, who inherited the Station casinos in Vegas from their father, bought the UFC for $2 million while Dana White bought in for 10%. Now, Sports Illustrated estimates the UFC's worth at $1 billion. The UFC uses its' new found wealth by buying its' competition such as WFL and Pride to further strenghten its' monopoly. The UFC averages around 500,000 PPVs every month easily outselling boxing, with the exception of De La Hoya PPVs, and profits millions of dollars while paying its' fighters peanuts. Last year, UFC Heavyweight champ Randy Coutour quit the UFC claiming he was paid only $500,000 for defending his title while Manny Pacquiao, who fought in the same weekend and weighs only 130 lbs, made around $5 million.

its funny when boxing fans are so threatened by mma, especially since they're both 2 distinct and DIFFERENT combat sports that cater to different demographics. especially ignorant morons referring to mma as "hugging" and "gay". can you find anything better or maybe provide a more scientific approach to bashing the fastest growing sport instead of just providing stupid one line words like "BORING", "GAY", "HUGGING"?

don't get me wrong, i LOVE boxing, i just find it funny how some of the posters here are so close minded and ignorant that they draw a battle line between both sports , saying you're either this or you're that. why not just be fans of both sports? i dont believe all of mma are boring, ive seen some REALLY exciting fights in that sport, just watch GRIFFIN VS. BONNAR, if you tell me that's boring, YOU'RE INSANE.

on the flip side, you cant ever say boxing doesnt have any boring fights, MAYWEATHER VS. BALDOMIR comes to mind, or any VALUEV fight, so please instead of bashing, show some respect for the athletes that sweat, train and bleed in both forms of combat. it ain't easy stepping into that ring or cage. if you feel that mma is so boring and is gay, why dont you step in that cage, train and fight and see if they'll really hug you or break you arm? honestly, i think it's your arm that's coming off.

if ANDREI ARLOVSKI and MANNY PACQUIAO train at the same gym, are friends and respect each other's profession, why can't you?

I've lost my interest in MMA too,gone are the the days of legendary Royce Gracie and other UFC legends back then,but MMA today is kinda boring and bring no excitement to me,although its only my personal opinion and no sour grape intended to avid MMA supporters,but nowadays "boxing rocks hard"... :D

Compare that to 9minutes of UFC/MMA hugging :lol:

Just like boxing legends Bernard Hopkins, Evander Holyfield to name a few hug their opponents right?... and for an even longer time than UFC/MMA hugging :lol:

Brock Lesnar the heavyweight champ has only 4 fights!!!! WTF!! In the first place, why in the world was he given the title shot when their are more deserving fighters out there?! Is there no ranking of some sort, the next best fighter will get to challenge the champ?

I occasionally watch MMA but I'm more entertained watching WWE. I like the trash talking that comes with it specially if the wrestler has the gift of gab. :lol:
