Marquez dropping third Pacquiao fight in favor of new Golden Boy deal?

Not so long ago Juan Manuel Marquez was heavily tipped to be leaving current promoters Golden Boy in hopes of securing a big money trilogy fight against pound for pound champion Manny Pacquiao.....
More recently however, Marquez seems to have reversed his decision.
Marquez said of his negotiations with Golden Boy in a recent interview with Boxingscene's Jhonny Gonzalez:
"A lot has been said that if I sign with Golden Boy, the third fight with Manny Pacquiao will not happen. But I do not know if that's something that the people still want to see. Right now I'm in no hurry. I liked the offer that they gave me and I will study it."

If Marquez is so sure of himself in beating Pacquiao, he could demand at least $10M fights afterwards. I seriously doubt GBP can give him that amount of money. I'm sure Marquez is just being practical. He doesn't only think he could beat Pacquiao anymore. He KNOWS he will get crushed in the fight. I'm sure Nacho has been an influence to Marquez about this. Nacho knows Pacquiao has improved a lot more since Mar 08.

This will be realize and the 3rd fight of Pacquiao vs. Marquez will happen. Marquez can give Manny a run for his money.

JMM has finally come to realize that manny is no longer the same manny that he fought some years back where JMM gave manny the best challenge in his career. JMM is now showing reluctance to pursue a trilogy with pacman and citing the GBP offer as the main reason for re-signing with the GBP and forget pacman rematch. perfect alibi. i say JMM is plain scared to fight pacman just like floyd mayweather. so many excuses.

I don't think so.. GBP has a lucrative fight offer for JMM more than what he's gonna get fighting Pac..

Man do you think a link is needed for this one? All of the world knows this scenario. Whatever reasons of Team Pac has, it still boils down to one thing - they don't want a trilogy with JMM.

huh?! are you serious? all we know is that pacman never said NO to jmm. the fact is, marquez declined a pacquiao rematch and rather flew to indonesia to fight chris john just for $30,000. that was 2006. now that marquez know how pacman improved, he doesn't want to fight the latter anymore. ts is definitely correct.

We are talking of the present. With the skills of JMM and the two disputed fights, it's far from reality that JMM is now afraid of Pac. JMM may have gave up on persuading Team Pac for a trilogy.
