"Bernabe's in great physical condition," said advisor Michael Koncz of Concepcion, who turned 24 in January. "But we need to work on him mentally and he needs to get some self-esteem and self-confidence back."

Every man has his own limits/limitations. Considering he's in top shape (as they claim) but what about his opponent?

What Abe should do is to fight like a hungry wolf. It's not all about winning but how you fight in the ring. Before JuanMa got owned by Salido, he was like hard to beat but look at him now. Though in the case of Abe, I think he's not at par with those on top. Meantime, he should fight in Asia to gain some confidence then try it again later if he really wants to be one of the best.

Options:
a. Leave the game - Like David Diaz
If his heart is not into it anymore, then he should consider hanging his gloves for good.

b. Reconstruct himself
Never mind the world title at this stage, he should try honing his technique and apply it by fighting other boxers, maybe go to japan and be discreet.

c. Continue fighting
Be a live spar mate/stepping stone and get his not-hard earned check.

Whaattt? Do you people know boxing? It's not only confidence that Concepcion lacks, almost everything, except the power perhaps in his hands. Does he have speed, footwork, technical adjustments while fighting, or let say in general, the skill? Nah! nah!, sorry, but that's the reality, this promoters are just hyping to make money. :( :( :(

I dunno why Abe, Boom2x and the likes dont campaign in Japan. They could make a lot of money over there and actually be successful. Guys like Malcolm Tunacao and Rolly Lunas have done it and did it successfully.

This over commitment to "US or bust" mentality is really denying a lot of what these guys came to boxing in the first place. Which is to earn a livelihood.

I think Abe's fulfilling the role that Koncz wants him to play --- that of a stepping stone or a fall guy to be fed to more competitive boxers. Easy money for Koncz, virtually no investments needed.

If Koncz really cares for Abe or other Pinoy prospects, he would have be flying/spending for these boys to get sound training in the US, Mexico or elsewhere...

When Mikey Garcia's camp balked at fighting Farenas at the last minute, did Koncz fight for Farenas? No, he just parrotted the headbutting allegations against Farenas. Then he served up Abe "The Real Deal"er...

Being a Bum has no cure, Agree ako sa TS, Join forces with BumBum Bautista and dominate PINOY PRIDE , iwagayway ang bandila ng ALA at PILIPINAS!!!

Sonny Boy Jaro took him 12 painful losses before finally capturing glory, does that make him an elite fighter then? No, he's still the same, a bara-bara kamikaze bum... I believe it can happen to Abe too, given the right opponent and style for him, he can very much fluke it out ... Long-term champ? we all know that will never going to happen.
