There is no such thing as lucky punch. Marquez trained hard for four months while Pacquiao spent only six weeks in camp and likes the limelight.

It was a perfectly timed counter punch.

Icecream,

Please... your give JMM too much credits... "calculated, a product of long hard training". No way, it was KO punch... nothing less... nothing more... but it was a KO punch... Boxers are told to move side to side with their head... the reason is to avoid those punches.. if you can't avoid it... at least, the slide and roll of the punches can lessen the impact. On this case, PAC was heading straight into the punch. Not just his head movement but his entire body heading straight on. Like a car wreck, a head to head collision... or should I say a head to fist collision. But calculated product of long hard training... PLEASE!!! It took him 4 fights or 42 ROUNDS... how much calculations does he needs? Did he break his calculator on the previos 3 fights? Lol... I say, he finally did it after a long battle... and give him a kudo for sticking with it... we'll get him next time.

tama di lucky or chamba yun.
kita naman sa sparring dun sa 24/7 episode na ganun na ganun ginawa ni marquez.
hinintay matapos ang double jabs, sway kunti sa kaliwa niya at unahan ng right straight niya ang left straight nung ka sparring.

The word Lucky punch originated only in boxing. Product of hard work if your opponent did not commit mistake.

Marquez: I know he is about to knock me out. I delivered a perfect punch.

The person conceded he will fall in the later rounds (at that moment during the interview he still feel weak) the punch is perfect for his opponent mistake. In other words the luck is with him.

The fifth is very dangerous for Marquez (40 years old) but he will still fight for the retirement pay.

Sabi nga ng matatanda pag magaling ang kalaban kaya nga sa boxing may lucky punch yan lang ang pag asa natin.

At first, I also thought that it was a lucky punch, but when I saw this ( Marquez sparring video) almost 2 months ago, it seemed that Marquez has been developing that strategy( counter with the big right hand during the 2nd fake) all along...

but honestly, I'm surprised with Marquez' one punch K.O. power ( at age of 39). especially when he KD Pac with a single punch in the third round which he never accomplished in their last 3 fights...it's just very unusual..

The term " lucky punch" was derived due to the fact that during the fight before the KO happened it was very clear that manny was starting to dominate the fight. If you can see after the 5th round marquez was already badly damaged and was ready to go down..there no way he can win that fight(marquez) if it goes to the distance...it was that 1 punch that mattered most which put manny down...if manny did not go down marquez knew he will be the one to go down and lose the fight...yes, its a good set up and timed punch...and it was also lucky that pacquiao felt it....marquez was relieved becoz of his lucky punch...
