These two fighters are both technical fighters. However, I believe that Rigo would get knocked out towards the middle rounds especially when he show boats. I'd like to see these two fight in March 2013. Donaire would have a more difficult fight against Mares.

Both will be easy fight! Mares will Bloody by the end of the fight, tkoed by rd 7, while Rigo will be koed by one punch!

Fights against Rigondeaux and Mares won't be easy at all. But Donaire will win nonetheless.

Yes, Rigondeaux is a great "amateur" fighter and has exceptional boxing skills, but Donaire is the consummate "professional" fighter who has one-punch KO power. Rigondeaux will end up running all night long, trying not to get KTFO. He may actually escape the KO punch, but he will look like an "amateur" against Donaire.

Style-wise, Mares is the better opponent for Donaire. He is an all-action fighter in the mold of a Juan Diaz. But his strength (all action) is also his weakness because against a hard-punching Donaire, he'll end up kissing the canvas.

The downside to Mares is that he is a dirty fighter. Nonito could possibly end up getting hurt by low blows, especially if the referee is as incompetent as Russell Mora.

Against a common opponent, Vic Darchinyan, Mares tried all sorts of dirty tricks (deducted a point in the fourth round) just to get the upperhand, but only managed a split decision. And you all know what happened to Joseph Agbeko.

Rigo will be easier than mares and i think donaire stops him early. I don't see the hype with rigo, I don't know how he got hyped up in the first place.

donaire should watch out for blows to the body.

I'll put my head on the chopping board and say Donaire would have the most difficult fight in his career thus far with Rigo... I'm a big fan of Nonito but I think Rigo will be his Marquez...

I don't think Mares has a chance in winning from Nonito...

This would be the best test for Donaire. Probably would be the persuader fight, if Donaire wins fairly, that indeed he deserves to be called a pound for pound fighter.

Rigo is a very skilled fighter but a coward and opportunist one. He'd prefer to run that to go toe to toe. He is not that tough too. It would be a pretty even fight cause Donaire has fought only a couple of good fighters who were at their primes.

Haters Gonna Hate...

Nonito needs to keep improving his straight right. Rigondeaux is a southpaw. And you know, left hookers who don't really use their right are not that successful against southpaws. Just ask Cotto, Barrera, Oscar, and Hatton when they fought Manny. Not saying Rigo is Manny, but Nonito needs a right that will be respected. He did show improvements against Nishioka, knocking him down with a straight right (which turned out to be the last punch of the fight). Keep improving, Nonito.

I think Uncle Bob is already pinning Rigo against Donaire.
