[filipino workers in hongkong are mostly domestic helpers. or " katulong". the job is cleaning the house, cook foods, wash dirty clothes etc. a very degrading job and "hinde pwede ipagmalaki". im not surprised if chinese treated azkal fans bad. we need to stop sending katulong to hongkong.

All are trying to do the best they can to help their families.....some even hold college degrees, but due to lack of job opportunities back home, they end up doing menial jobs overseas....

So lighten up a bit....it's not degrading, if it;s the best way they know how to support their families........but until we as a country progress enough economically, a lot of Filipnos will still take on these menial jobs....

what we need is to control our population. a family should have two children only and should be monitored by our gov't. 50 yrs from now no more filipinos will go to hongkong as DH. dami kasi natin kaya di natin mapakain.

I would like to think those HKers still got the hang-up of their lives.

I have some nieces in Norway, the most economically stable country in the world today and they say that in Norway, everybody is equal. If you are a domestic helper there, you have your own time limit. If you just even pick a paper in the household of your employer after your official time of work, they will reprimand you not to work anymore because you are not on duty anymore. They will prepare you the food after your official time. Your work will be just 8 hours a day, five days a week! My niece's boss is an ambassador. The locals give respect and trust to foreigners there. It is sometimes the Filipinos themselves who say bad things towards other Filipinos, a real indication of crab mentality.

I have come to realized that Christian values outweigh them all

We should all pray that HK maintain their rich status and forgive them for their misbehavior to that football incidence

We can't let anger take the better of us cause it is not what God taught us and told us to do

In these time of anger, resentment, hatred, racism and violence, prayer to God and forgiveness is what we need

Life is too short to be angry, may God help us all

The best way for us is to pressure our government.
They are the representative of our people.

The Philippines is not rich in terms of economic standards, kumbaga paangat pa lang...
Pero not enough reason for us to be maltreated anywhere.
Because we are so rich in human resources.
The government should protect that number one commodity: OFWs!
My suggestion is for our DFA or maybe even the President himself to issue a sanction against Hongkong and their recruitment of Pinoy workers.
Ban the sending of workers to Hongkong indefinitely until the Hongkong government issues an apology and guarantee safe conduct of all activities may it be sports, concerts, etc. involving Filipino expatriates or representatives.

Amen!

I couldn't agree more.

Specially when you said na we may be poor (economically) but that is no reason for us to be maltreated anywhere. True words.

Hence we should be treated fairly and humanely by others.

Its not that way in fact nobody will treat us fairly. "Nobody can love the Filipinos better than the Filipino itself". Hanggang ngayon we are still poor sick nation in asia kaya ganito ang tingin sa atin.

Which is... people should be treated fairly regardless of their financial/economic status in society. Because if you believe otherwise, then likely you are an Elitist o Elitista.

Meaning... a Filipina Domestic Helper should enjoy equal rights (as a human being) the same as what the next worker/guy is enjoying. Whether that next guy is a factory worker from China or an Engineer from England, or an I.T. from India, etc.

Being poor does not give them the right to treat you as a sub-human.

Akala ko ba na the world has matured and that we have ALL moved on from the dark ages and era of "slave trade"?

"All men are created equal"? And I think na we can almost all agree on that.

Then why are the people here even entertaining the thought na just because you are poor (as a nation, economically) e this is somewhat an acceptable reasoning why you are maltreated abroad?

Na kaya ka inaabuso kasi mahirap ka . Kahit mahirap, may karapatan parin, tao parin and dapat tratuhin as such.

You should never accept that. hindi yun sapat na dahilan para maltratuhin ka, insultuhin ka at saktan ka dahil lang nagtratrabaho ka sa kanila.

You are a human, the same as everybody else and you should be treated like one. With dignity!

Pero I liked what you said about "Nobody can love the Filipino, but the Filipino itself". And agree ako jan sa mga sinabi mo.

Okay yan, mas gusto ko yang ganyang mindset, kaysa naman dun sa mga whiners and colonial mentality ridden Filipinos who's only hope e to always rely and beg on foreign countries to save their as*es.

But most of all act on it.

Kasi nga reality yan. Habang mahina tayo as a nation, we will be bullied.

LOL.. and who's loss will it be?

Masasaktan din sila jan, kahit papaano.

Specially kung biglaan ang pull out and on a massive scale. Hindi naman ganun kadali ang maghanap ng qualified workers sa mga vacant position, lalo na kung yung job requires a special kind of training, which sometimes takes months.

Which means mapa-paralyze din yung business nila for a while, before resuming to normal. Which translates to money loss for them.

Kaso hindi pa sya practical as of the moment, kasi malaki parin ang inaasahan natin sa OFW remittances. Siguro after makapag establish na tayo ng certain industries dito like manufacturing or malaki na talaga ang tourism industry, yan pwede na.
