Pac is the bigger name, a legend, Crawford is not, yet. You must be kidding, ask several folks on the street and they might come back with Crawford who ?
Consequently, Crawford is not a bigger PPV draw, yet, even after beating Horn. Pacman will still always get more PPV in comparison. That's in the USA. Only boxing afficionados know Crawford and most names in boxing, and there are few of us.
We don't know if Pacman goes back to the USA. Fighting outside has its advantages too, one can hide their taxes, like there is nothing about what Pacman is getting for his Malaysia fight. The silence is good for his pockets. From the past, Crawford already proved he can't beat Pacman's lowest PPV results, we'll see in the future if he ever can.
Crawford and Horn could only get 8112 attendance, that's low for a "bigger name" than the Pacman.
As among the top draw, titles don't matter, although Pacman always wants one, probably for political reasons.
As for current pound for pound, Pacman is a legend, so we are past that and would look at where he ranks all time. If Duran came back and fought Crawford, Duran still has the bigger name. Crawford who ?
Pac has not had a PPV fight in the US for a while .
When the people here are talking about future great welterweight fights, Pac's name is not even mentioned anymore .
Mathysse beating Crawford would be a legacy win for him.
Mathysse beating a 39 1/2 yr old Pac is like Berbick beating Ali. Like Pazienza beating Duran. Nobody would care too much b/c they would have beat has beens.
Pac-Vargas and Pac-Bradely 3 did not draw all that well either. Pac gave away hundreds of tickets .
I was at the Pac-Bradley 2. And that one barely sold out then. But, Pac spent a million on free tickets too.
Crawford KO'd the man who beat Pac. Even if it was controversial. He still knocked him out .
Just like how Arum planned it. He catapulted Crawford .
And if Mathysse did fight Crawford, it sure wouldn't be held in Malaysia.
Pac-Mathysse in the US wouldn't sell jack.
