Former world champion Danny Garcia gave his comment on the January 19 WBA welterweight championship fight between Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner in Las Vegas on Showtime pay-per-view. 

“That’d be a great fight,” Garcia told Boxing Scene. “Those are two big names, Pacquiao and Broner. And I haven’t fought either one of them. It would sell out a stadium and be a big pay-per-view fight. It would make a lot of money.” 

When asked who does the think will win he responded: “I know a lot of people are picking Pacquiao. I’m going to go with Broner in an upset. He’s younger. I think the concern is that Pacquiao is going to outwork him. If (Broner) lands cleaner punches and ups his work rate a little bit, I think he can win the fight.” 

Garcia wants to face the winner of the fight and he believes he can defeat either fighter. “I’ve never doubted myself,” he said. “I know I’m one of the best … I know I’m the best.”

GABRIEL ROSADO has pleaded with Luis Arias to go to war on Saturday night as they clash in a must-win Middleweight battle at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, KS, live on DAZN.

Rosado and Arias can lay claim to challenging the world champions in 2019 with victory in Kansas, and Arias has promised to KO Rosado to bounce back from his sole pro defeat against Daniel Jacobs last November.

Jacobs was crowned as the new IBF champion the day that Arias and Rosado met in a press conference for this weekend’s clash in October, joining Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez and Demetrius Andrade as rulers at 160lbs.

Super bantamweight Diego De La Hoya will not be in action on Saturday night in his native Mexicali.

According to ESPN Deportes, the young Mexican fighter fainted while training for Saturday's fight, which is scheduled to take place at the Plaza de Toros Calafia against Edixon Pérez. More than likely Seniesa Estrada will replace him as the headliner of the card.

Sources are indicated that De La Hoya was training to take off the five pounds he had remaining to make the weight limit of 122-pounds for Friday, but halfway through his training session he fainted - which forced his team to call emergency services and immediately transferred him to the hospital to stabilize him.

Oscar Rivas earned his nickname, “Kaboom,” from trainer Marc Ramsay sometime before his August 2009 professional debut as a heavyweight, a third-round TKO of Joe Stofle.

Ramsay was overseeing violent sparring between Rivas and Canada-based Hatian, Bermane Stiverne, who reigned for eight months as heavyweight champion starting in August 2014.

“Oscar had zero professional fights the first time he came to train with me in Canada and the first time I put him into sparring,” said Ramsay of Rivas, a 31-year-old silver medalist as a 19-year-old in the 2007 Pan American Games.

“It was his first full round here in Quebec with Bermane Stiverne, who was was not yet the heavyweight champion but he was on his way. They were just throwing bombs, and when Oscar finished, I just told him you seem to go for the big bombs all of the time. The way you fight, it’s like ‘Kaboom!.’”

There were some who considered Deontay Wilder to be too light and scrawny to compete as a heavyweight.

A 2008 Olympic bronze medalist from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the 6-foot-7 “Bronze Bomber” weighted a career-low 207 ¼ in November 2008 for his professional debut and second-round TKO of Ethan Cox.

But on December 1 at Staples Center in Los Angeles on Showtime Pay-Per-View (9 p.m ET/ 6 p. ET), Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) will pursue his eighth straight knockout in as many WBC title defenses against lineal champion Tyson Fury (27-0, 19 KOs).

WBC champion Deontay Wilder believes Anthony Joshua is just the FOURTH best heavyweight on the planet – despite the Brit holding three major belts.

The 33-year-old failed to agree terms with the 2012 Olympic gold medallist over a bout that would see the first undisputed champ in the division since Lennox Lewis in 1999.

"I don’t think [Joshua] has the heart and the mentality to show that he’s the best, and even if he does, then his people don’t.

“But that’s enough of him. It ain’t about him. It’s about Tyson Fury. We are the best. And after this fight, you’ll see who is the best. One champion, one face, one name.

“Of course, [Joshua] beat the guys that they’ve put in front of him and tried to hype the media up like they were bigger than what they really were.

“So he’s had his opportunities, and as far as I’m concerned, this [fight] right here will tell the world who is the best of the best because I don’t feel that Joshua can beat me, nor can he beat Fury nor the second-best heavyweight in the world, [Luis] Ortiz. I have a strong personal opinion and strong feeling about that.”

That don’t matter to me. I’m 40-0 with 39 KOs. When you possess that sort of power, you don’t worry about a lot of things, man.”

Wilder alludes to the days of undersized five-belt champion Evander Holyfield, who weighed 208 for his third-round KO of 246-pound Buster Douglass (October 1990), or  Muhammad Ali's  216.5-pounds for an eighth-round KO of 220-pound George Foreman (October 1974).

"Ya’ll wanna see the Muhammad Ali of the golden days?" said Wilder. "Well I'm here. I’m special. I’m a gift from God like my grandmother said."

Pacquiao and Broner will formally announce their fight details on November 19, Monday in New York. Pacquiao is 60-7-2 and 39 knockouts in a career that began in 1995, turns 40 in December while Broner is 33-3-1 with 24 knockouts. 

The Pacquiao and Broner press conference on Monday will be at New York's Gotham Hall and Tuesday at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills, California to promote their title fight, which is set on January 19 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

“I’m delighted to get a shot at the WBC World Flyweight title and I won’t be wasting this opportunity,” said Edwards. “I’ve come on a lot since the Casimero defeat and I’ll show that on December 22 by taking the WBC Flyweight World title home with me.

Danny Garcia has encountered the biggest names in boxing which are in his division: “I fought more (big) fights than any other fighter on this stage.” 

Garcia has fought Erik Morales (twice), Amir Khan, Zab Judah, Lucas Matthysse, Lamont Peterson, Paulie Malignaggi, Robert Guerrero, Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter. 

Garcia lost a close 112-116, 113-115, 113-115 unanimous decision to Porter for the vacant WBC welterweight title in his last fight in September. His only other defeat was a 112-116, 113-115, 115-113 split decision loss to Keith Thurman in March last year. Garcia now has a career record of 34-2 with 20 knockouts. 

Garcia is a former world champion in two weight classes, having worn the unified WBA Super, WBC, Ring magazine and lineal light welterweight title belts between 2012 and 2015, and the WBC welterweight title belt from 2016 to 2017.
