Unlike during the time of Shaq when NBA needs a lot of big kids to contest with the Big Diesel,
today's NBA era of phasing and spacing is a pretty dry market for 7 footers.

I hope he gets all the focus and see him in the NBA someday.

Hopefully, 6 years from now ganyan na ang laro ni Kai...

dre..dito pa lng sa pinas di na sya kuha sa gilas team ni guiao..dont know if sa age yet think he already nakuha na sa gilas o phil team early then,sa sea games ba o think major asian stint din yon...at medyo bangko pa for la pinakita..kay guiao...so kaya di na kinuha ngaun...he dominated seemed to be sa mga kasing eded nya yet sa mature fil players sa pba at gilas...la pa..so opprtunity na nya na na kahit di pa sya dominant player sa mga matured player dito..pba or gilas...e mapunta na sya sa international teams, US or euro para mahasa...na di na dumaan sa hasa ng veteran pinoy players/team dito

Ray Parks on Kai Sotto pursuing NBA dream: 'Send him overseas ASAP'by SPIN.PH STAFF
18 HOURS AGO

TAKE it from someone who dared try.

On Wednesday, Alab Pilipinas star Bobby Ray Parks showed his full support to teen prodigy Kai Sotto's desire to become the first homegrown Filipino player in the NBA.

And he has one advice for the 17-year old, who is set to decide over the summer on whether to accept offers from European club teams or stay put.

"Should send him overseas ASAP," Parks said in a tweet.

Parks, of course, knows where he is coming from.

The son of the late seven-time PBA best import Bobby Parks embarked on a US journey at the end of his UAAP career with National University to chase his NBA dream.

The two-time UAAP MVP went undrafted in the 2015 NBA Rookie Draft but got an invitation to play for the Dallas Mavericks' team in the Summer League.

Parks got as far as the NBA D-League (now G-League), where he was drafted in the second round by the Texas Legends. He played in 32 games with the Legends, averaging 4.6 points and 1.9 rebounds.

So what does all that tell us?

Just one thing: Kai, listen to Ray.

yun lang, kaso for now ang importanteng paghandaan ay ang makapasok muna si Kai sa NBA. 8)
Then, let's take it from there... Mapa ala-Yao, Yi or Wang man ang kanyang career path. Yung makapasok lang sa NBA, record-breaking na yan... 8) :)

which environment would be able to prepare and develop Kai as a big man better?

is it the US NCAA Div 1 or the Euro league

also worth considering is the long term development, not just focusing on the short term.......I think for big men the fundamentals should be developed and reinforced at the early stages of the career...moreso compared to other positions
